Does WD change the GVWR?

http://www.curtmfg.com/index.cfm?eve...ntpieceid=1347 Tongue weight should be between 9 and 15% of trailer weight. So using the trailer weight you mentioned earlier, 4000lbs, tongue should be between 360 and 600lbs.

Does WD change the GVWR?

Quote: How do I find out what the tongue weight is for a trailer hooked up to my truck? Go to a truck stop that has CAT scales. Run over the scales with the trailer, then drop the trailer and make another run. The weight slips will have 3 axles - front, rear, and trailer. Add up the front and rear axle weights of the truck with and without trailer. The difference between the 2 sums is the tongue weight.

Bad picture I took it with my phone the other day. This is what I've been pulling once a day 20 miles one way for the last week and a half. The first is a 1500gallon and the second is a 1000gallon NH3 fertilizer tanks. I think they come in loaded at about 18,000. Pickup is a 08 F150xl 4x4 4.6L we are only allowed to pull these at 25mph. Also just have to add the one of my F250 6.4L towing our semi home after somebody had to back into it...

Real; I don't care too much about all your other bickering with other members, but I do have a comment about P vs LT's. All you keep pointing to is the load rating but that alone does not define how a tire will behave with a given load. LT tires are deigned with stronger sidewalls to minimize sway associated with taller aspect ratios. A P rated tire may not blow out with 2500 pounds on it, but it will be more unstable. Load ratings...

I have never seen a reciever hitch made out of stainless steel. I would hate to see the cost even associated with something like that being made. I would say you would have to make your own but, be safe and just buy a new hitch every few years.

GVWR is not what you can tow. It is the max weight of your vehicle with passengers and anything else loaded into your truck, including tongue weight of the trailer you are towing. Without a WD hitch, your hitch is limited to 5000lbs. with a WD hitch your can tow up to the max trailer weight listed for your vehicles (not what is listed on the hitch), as long as it does not put you over GVWR, GAWR...

I'd buy a F-350. Doesn't have to be a diesel, the V-10 gasser has plenty of guts.

245/70/17's are close to the same height, and are available in LT C, D, and E. They are about 0.4" shorter than stock. If you can find any 255/70/17's in LT, that's an exact height match.

You'll be fine for the most part. If you go with the trailer, it 'should' have either electric or surge brakes.. If they are electric, you will need a brake controller to activate them...
If you aren't going too far or going over any huge passes, then you could get away with having no trailer brakes (it'll weigh some #5000 when all loaded up I'd guess), but you will have to really, really...

Torsion is quieter and rides better. Not that your quads will care, but some day you'll use the trailer to pull other stuff. Sounds like a good value to me.

B&W flip over ball

You can get a "companion" 5th wheel hitch that slides in the ball hole when you need a 5th wheel hitch.
You can also get a ladder rack that slips in the ball hole as well for a very versatile system.
They are really the only system anyone needs if they will do any towing with a bed mount hitch.

You need the weight distributing hitch to haul that camper because its probably going to gross about 6k when its loaded and ready for a trip and put you over the tongue weight rating of your hitch. It will also be a more enjoyable ride when you get the hitch set up properly.
