Stumped! Need help please.

Sounds like a "PATS" prob on the 99, -or starter interupt relay. You already went over your connects right ? Look under the truck again. Whatever got the brake line could have tangled with the harness in another area.

Blowing Sparkplugs in what years?
Published (2009-11-25 03:10:00)
If you use Motorcraft plugs and torque them dry (NO antiseize) to 28 ft/lb, you won't have any blowout issues.

It most likely has been done before. One thing to be aware of is the oil filler. On the E-150 it might be longer to accommodate the engine compartment of the van. I would also examine the torque converter to be sure it mates properly with your transmission. I cannot say for sure if they will be the same. .

How the hell did I miss that...LOL I guess it's not impossible, but I would personally think it very very unlikely these things have windage trays. (the baffles you speak of in the pan)

How do I remove and replace...

I always used a big punch and a hammer. Knock it in on one side, take a pair of pliers or channel locks and pull it out. Clean up the edge of the hole, put some gasket maker or yellow sealer on the edge of the new plug, and set it in the hole. Then take something as close to the size of the plug as possible, that fits on the inside, such as a large socket, and hammer it into place.

1-49/64" = 1.765625 So, about a .016 interference fit sounds right.

Check your spark plugs, you may have a loose one getting ready to launch. Torque them to 28 ft/lb.

Put a MotorCraft FL-820S on it, my dad has an 07 with a 5.4 and he used Fram oil filters and it always knocked and ticked when he'd first start it up. I put a MotorCraft on it and it hasn't done it since. A lot of guys on here say they have the same problem with Fram because it doesn't have anti-drain valve like MotorCraft.

I know other people are better at repairs, but here are my two cents. I would look at the Positive cable at the starter. I hear it’s a copper fitting and its is a high maintenance, it will have 12v but not the amps to start the truck.

How often do you change? If you change every 3 - 5K you can use any oil that meets Ford Specs. If you want to go longer you can chose the Motorcraft blend for up to 7500 or Amsoil's XL for the same interval. The XL also has the API starburst for those that care about that.

yes you can use that engine. you may have to use a computer off an 04+ 4.6 with the same tranny as yours that way you have the drive by wire system to use as well. the issue would be the cam phasers(you can get lockouts) and i would get a truck manifold off an 09 f150 4.6 3v and you would have to change the wiring up a little bit and the tb(06 mustang has drive by wire, your truck has a throttle...

Welcome to the site. Just to let you know, I deleted your other two threads as you are not allowed to cross post. Just one thread per subject. I can move your thread to one of the other forums, if you don't get the help you need in this one, but I left it in the V8 forum as I think it will get more views here.
Hope you get the help you need!

You don't have listed what truck you have, but on my '02, I'm pretty sure I could get my pan off without removing anything else. But, regardless, pulling an oil pan is really not a fun job.
I'm actually pretty torn on this one...almost 50/50. Something that size is not going to get sucked up by the pick up tube. There is a big round screen on the bottom of that. My feelings are the ...
