The reset is to fix the passenger's side Airbag Module. Have you done any work in the dash as of late ? ( thinking unplugged connector to the airbag module ) This is the LFC ( Light Flash Code ) table for the 1997 MY

Headlight Problem
Published (2009-12-13 18:49:00)
That fixed the problem once again, thanks. This all started when I was putting on my HID system and the lights they sent were the wrong one's so I'm believing that those lights caused all the problems, and now I'm just fixing them. I don't have factory fogs.

Might be a dumb question, but where are the field fuses? How would i go about testing? Just test continuity? I checked fuse #23 in the driver's side fuse panel and also the 20A fuse on the firewall, they both checked out fine. The connector looks good as far as i can see. Thanks!

I received the replacement VSM (it was labeled Body Security Module) and installed it. Right away my remotes stopped working. I drove to the local dealer and they charged me an hour of labor to reprogram it and get everything working again.

#4 10A Fuse Blow
Published (2009-12-18 22:18:00)
Gentleman, Problem has been solved...thanks to a dealership mechanic. The harness wire which leads to the A/C pressure switch (on this circuit) was damaged (shorted). The service advisor quoted.... $390.00 (including $89.00 "diagnosis fee") labor/cost to slap some electricians tape and a heat shrink wrap on the damaged wire harness and resecure. After reviving myself with CPR, I asked about the eligibility of my ESP warranty...

That would be it. The passengers window switches run through the driver's switch. At rest position on the master window switch ( driver's ) this is ground on both circuits. The window lock is what provides power to the other window switches. Without the ground from the driver's side, window no work. On the 1997-2003 MY trucks ( and 2004 Lightning and Heritage lines ) the illumination ...

It should be 1 of 2 things normally. Start with un-plugging the Power Door lock actuator, and apply power to the 2 wires. Polarity one way is lock, reverse polarity is unlock. Next pull and test the PDL switch If the lights dim when you press on the lock button, I would suspect the power door lock actuator is the cause, but best to test both the lock and the switch to ...

start the truck and take a voltage reading at the battery posts, see what it is... than go to your firewall, where you MAIN fuse breakers are and test the output at the cable that leads to the alternator.... First ofcourse, check the fuses for your alternator. Earlier this year my stock(1998 184,000 mile) alternator went out... I had warnings for months, such as battery light flashing,...

Never heard of that happening when using a turn signal, but I had a similar problem where my left Hid started flickering(more like a strobe light) and it was a bad connection to the bulb.

Maybe just the bulbs ? Pull the surround, and remove the HVAC controls, and check the bulbs behind it. Pro-Fit international has some good directions, if you look up the VSM for your MY truck, you can download the PDF of the directions.

What do you mean by "one of them routed through the AC clutch relay" ? quick test, remove the fan relay coil that is triggered by the a/c clutch, and see if the problem still happens.
