question about IP camera Trendnet
Published (2009-11-24 13:39:00)
There are probably better communities for these types of questions than this one. I would look at reviews of other trendnet devices and see what the general consensuses is of that company. You can tell a lot about the quality a company produces by looking at all the reviews for various products. I would also search out a more video/ surveillance/ security community and search for questions there. Also reading reviews on websites like newegg...

Windows 7 Impressions?
Published (2009-11-19 21:04:00)
IMHO it's better (than Vista), but still a huge learning curve if you really want to use it (rather than just play with the pretty features). Many of the big problems you expect are not there (eg old apps working), but the simplest stuff - like dragging a link off a window, viewing a file timestamp, installing an earlier version of MS Office, using IPX on the network - just don't work. I'm guessing in time workarounds will come...

Published (2009-11-19 20:04:00)
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on multi-booting several windows installations off one or two hard drives. I've been asked to put together a software testing rig capable of running Windows XP, Vista, and 7, with 32- and 64-bit versions of each. That's 6 installs total. If necessary I could have 6 separate hard drives with ordinary installs. However, I'd like to keep the number of drives down to cut cost and...

Published (2009-11-20 03:49:00)
Thanks for your reply. I guess I will be installing everything the computer originally came with. Its just kind of annoying because a) There wasn't really anything I ever use amongst the preloaded software, some of it was trial software which is one of my pet hates, and I feel that if I have to uninstall stuff then I no longer have a fresh clean xp install. Also b) just the windows updates alone to get the service packs back again takes...

On your old monitor you probably had a standard lower resolution and now that you connected a new monitor (probably widescreen) that resolution will look terrible. You can fix it by doing the following
Right click on your desktop
Select properties.
In the Display Properties window (the one that just opened) select the Settings tab.
Find the group box that says Screen resolution and ...

I'm not quite sure I understand the problem fully. So if she tries to change the font size in word, power point, Web browser, ect it changes the font size for everything else on the computer (like icon fond, menu bar font, ect)? Who was the person who was using her computer and can they be trusted? I don't know of any setting in windows that will link the fonts together. Perhaps a virus scan/...

Hmm you isntalled windows 7 after xp and there wasn't a boot menu? You can try to fix your MBR from the windows disk. Insert your windows 7 disk. Select repair from the menu and open the command prompt.
type in the following:

Hold down Ctrl and use your mouse wheel that should adjust the zoom of IE 8. Also note that this will work in a lot of different browsers and programs.
