Not sure but I think I have one in a bucket down stairs. Look at Just IH as well. I know those guys and know they will be able to help. I'll take a look and PM you if I do so as not to keep the hijack going.

[quote=JAFJO;508840] QUOTE] I remember when your Scout was for sale. I had to do some real soul searching to avoid purchasing it. We actually PM'd a bit back and forth. Great build. Major, any progress on your Scout?

I got a Silverado
Back when the name meant something more than just a truck.. it was the top of the line for 1991
Got my steelies, just need to get the tires off them and paint 'em up. Then it's off to Les Schwab for a set of 295/85R16 Hankook Dynapro's.

good point about the tires....ATs are out and I will start shopping for somthing more aggressive. I will never again go over terrain where i might get stuck without walking it first! I learned my lesson the hard way with my old scout.....not doin that again!

Has anyone welded up a front reciver hitch for their 2500 or 3500
Dodge with the diesel engine? I'm in the process and do not like the loss of 2" to 3" the aftermarket hitches offer. It looks like I will need to clearance the heat exchanger lines for the power stearing unit on the driver side. I would rather go to a wider less deep secton like a 2" x 4" or 6" cross member. With some luck I...

Broncos suck!
Do a quick search, there's a fairly large thread with these answers out there. You can also look at my build thread...as well as a couple others that are on here.

Well so after acquiring the diesel traveler about a year and a half ago I am FINALLY getting around to doing something with it. I hadnt touched it since I brought it back from NY...I drove it one day, the brakes were sketchy at best, and I parked it. Now that I need something to drive (and I want to be able to drive this thing around this summer, as well as go on some trips) I am doing ...

What size bed do you have, whats the wheelbase and the overall length? Thats honestly going to be the limiting factor.
For starters, get rock sliders so you can keep opening your doors. Especially for a truck that long, you'll be hitting just about everything. 2" x ."188 would be ideal for this truck. Also, if you don't have it already, plumb in a remote transmission filter and cooler. If ...

Are you sure a NP435 is what you really looking for? 435s are more of a Dodge and Ford transmission although very few GM trucks came with them. I had a 1968 2wd GMC with a 305 V6 with a NP435. The only NP435 I ever saw in a GM truck. GM trucks typically had a SM465, which was used from 1968-1991. Prior to the SM465 the SM420 was GM's main trans.

Continued
Some additional exterior shots showing how some stuff is set up.
The tire gate. I actually have plans to rework this entire bumper, but this is the current setup.
Camping set up. The bed area of a blazer is just a 6 foot truck bed (no feet wells for the rear seat) so outfitting for sleeping etc is pretty easy.
Note I will never use an air mattress again, COLD!!!...

Wow, you've really got your search work cut out for you. I don't know of anything on the market that does even half of what you list that would be light enough to put on your truck. And we haven't even gotten to things like center of gravity issues and tie downs!
I'd look in a different direction if I were you since anything you do find to fit will just be little more then a small box. ...
