Turkeys are now in COSTCO, about 58.000 for a big one. I'll probably be doing one for Christmas this year, but I may do a goose or a pheasant as something a bit different.

go to a nong hyup market and check out all the colors of sweet potatoes they have. You might find one close to what you use back home. I have found white, white long skiny, orange, and yellow.

Are they too starchy? Will I wind up with a light custard pie or a thick, flavorless lump?

I'm disappointed by the lack of comments on this thread. I expected 1. a Canadian saying it's over a month late. 2. someone saying the KOTESOL dinner sucks because it's KOTESOL. 3. someone complaining because I didn't give links. (I'm lazy. Do your own googling.) 4. a Captnporridge video. (That I won't watch.)

One of the only pleasures at the site canteen here in the Saudi desert is an endless supply of HP sauce. As a condiment or "secret ingredient" it's delicious. For Korea, I order it from Britsuperstore ......

COSTCO and USA...
Published (2009-11-04 10:07:00)
(Couldn't decide where to post this, but looks like most Costco-related posts are in this forum) I have a USA-based Costco membership. Last year at Costco membership renewal time (I happened to be in the USA at the time), the clerk convinced me to upgrade to their "Executive" level membership. It cost $50 more than the basic membership, but gives a 2% cash back. Furthermore, they promised that if you didn't get $50...

You got the $50 back, so you didn't lose anything in the deal, but it would
have been nice had they told you that in the beginning.

^ Man, I gotta send the Mrs. to one of those. Thanksgiving (US) is her fave holiday, because it's close to her birthday and usually involves lots of family and feasting. So this year, she came up with the bright idea that I could cook up a turkey and sides for her sometime between the time I get off work and the time I go play hockey. That's love for ya...

HP rocks, it is one of the best condiments ever created. Rule Brittania! We also pretty much invented Horseradish Sauce too, so anyone who complains about British food being poor is obviously an ignorant twit!
