Are jag v8's any good?

BA XR8's are getting cheap now but many will have been slowly falling apart for years, and many were not well equipped as standard, with most having been sold as auto's. IMO, the Boss 260 also suffers from a bit of a torque hole below 3000 rpm, (but sings after that!) so for an auto the turbo walks all over it for driveability. Only justification for the Boss V8 is a manual and the exhaust note above 3500...

Not sure where you got the idea that you throw a BMW V8 engine out after 200,000kms. I've seen some with over 320,000 kms and still going strong. E38s are getting so cheap in price it's not funny. A car used to cost over $200k brand new is now around $10k - $30k depending on year model. I'm picking up a black E38 740iL with the 4.4L V8 this weekend

I am looking for a new car, and have been considering either v8 e 38 or e34, ba xr8 or possible a jag 4.0 v8. I am not to fond of bmw's v8 design philosophy of "throw it out after 200,000 k's" but would love to get one if i can find a low mileage 540i or similar, but I was wondering if anyone here knows much about jags, and how they are in terms of reliability, particularly the transmissions and motors, as i have heard...

Even though we have a 'other model' section, I don't think many people here are specialised in Hyundai, I suggest you search or join a Hyundai specific forum e.g. http://www.hyundai-forums.com/index.php?act=idx

Is that a 2nd hand import? Reason I ask is because my dad used to comply 2nd hand imports and the first thing to go were the wing mirrors as they don't meet our ADRs. They'd fit el-cheapo door mirrors.

I always wondered and thought about why someone would buy a Ford, let alone have a forum for it. Just give me one sole reason why you would buy a Ford. Can't see any. Unless you are a farmer; they make very good tractors !

what about the r32 skyline? 4 pot brakes, reasonable driveline, simple cheap mods will get you 250hp at the rear wheels. infact for around 10k you should easily get one with that power. 944 would need to be a turbo or 3.0l imo so could be out of your price range.
