Mail pickup hours New Years week
Published (2009-12-29 08:40:00)
Mail hours are from 1-4pm business days but I see nothing in the literature which says when they will/will not be open on New Year Eve. I plan to pick up our mail this afternoon, so I will ask and post the answer once I get ours, if someone has not already done so by then.

Irresponsible Pet Owners

Barbara, Your cat loves and trusts you and depends on you to keep him/her safe, fed and healthy. So your first responsibility is to YOUR PET. Not to someone else's unruly dog. Kick the dog. Kick the dog again. They broke the rules. You have every right to defend your cat. Yes. Take a pepper spray and a walking stick. Many pet owners in RV parks and campgrounds let their dogs defecate anywhere they want. But I will say this, Army Corp of...

The best way to end up being unwelcome as a boondocker is a noisy or stinky generator. You can be sure that few of the folks you meet are going to be thinking "what a great guy, we'll invite him to our next spot." after they hear your generator for a few minutes. Of course some fully solar boondockers would not welcome you even with a quiet generator but that is another issue.

If you find it necessary to get a noisey contractor generator you will make people around you VERY unhappy. Especially if it is run a lot. So yes, you will have unhappy neighbors. I would try to find a used Honda, if it was me....

QUOTE (George Stoltz @ Dec 26 2009, 04:17 AM) I must be missing something here. What are Miz. Holly and Joe Spilker referring to about being bad? I thought the topic was about wind in the RGV. Sorry George, seems the thread got "Hi jacked". Yes it is supposed to be about the wind and thankfully there was no wind on Christmas day and so far this morning the wind is very calm. One of the families we frequently camp with has a Honeywell and it is as quiet as the honda and has very efficient for them at about half the cost. Just because it doesnt say Honda doesnt mean it wont last. As long as you take care of it it will more than suit your needs!

A suggestion sit in front of a generator for 30 minutes and then do a sanity check...lol I once apon a time owned a 4K gen with a 8HP Briggs & Stratton It worked great, it was fantastic I built a lil house for it.. I insulated that lil puppy. I installed an attic fan in one end of the house to keep the motor cool. I put an extension on the exhaust pipe and ran it down to the ground out of my pickup to quiet it down. Now then getting...

Airsafe Hitches
Published (2009-12-28 13:45:00)
I have an Airborne air ride pin box. The 5th wheel hitch is a standard hitch. The airbags are on the trailer. The Airborne system replaces the trailer pinbox hitch. My son also has one and we are both very satisfied with it. It makes the truck and trailer both handle and ride much smoother. We also have airbags on the truck suspension. We are both driving dually's. I can't speak for the one you are looking at but I can for my...

June 2008 I bought a Boily PRO 3600SI genset for $995. When you read the specifications sheet you discover it is quieter than a Honda 3000, weighs much less, and provides 3,000W continuously whereas a Honda 3,000 provides 2,600W continuous power. Nearly the same for Yamaha. I am well satisfied with my purchase. That,s my opinion and judgment, others will have theirs.

I'm only familiar with fifth wheel trailers but on them good air hitch will take a lot of stress off the trailer and its contents from a stiff truck suspension. I didn't spend a lot of time looking at the site but they might be a decent hitch, if they offer a decent money-back satisfaction warranty they might be worth a try. There have been a lot of scam artists in the hitch business ...

Just an aside: The couple used the built-in GPS on their SUV to get lost. Their cell phones had GPS chips, but GPS software was not mentioned. But having a GPS chip the cell phone could tell the emergency people their location once they could get through. A few cellphones with GPS have navigation programs that bring the maps and often satellite views down from the cell phone network, no ...

QUOTE (Happy Ray @ Dec 28 2009, 11:46 PM) Does anyone know if the 100K warranty on a Kia Sedona covers all owners or just the original owner or if some transfer had to take place, or is it covers anyone who now owns the vehicle ? Not sure of the model year of your Sedona, but from the Kia site for 2009 models. Powertrain has a warranty of 120 months/100,000 miles to ORIGINAL ...

Yes, it can be very windy down here but varies from day to day and month to month. Go to weather.com and get the wind speed for the next ten days and that will give you some idea of what to expect your remaiing time down here in the valley. Carol

QUOTE (Nick Russell @ Dec 5 2009, 08:49 AM) Friday night we encountered an armed intruder in our motorhome. It was a pretty scary event http://gypsyjournal.net/blog/2009/12/05/a-violent- encounter/ What an ordeal! It is good that you and Terry are safe and have a good attitude about this. As a single woman, this is reminding me to not be complacent about my safety....

Firearms may be legally shipped between any two parties with current valid FFl liscense. You may be able to find a gun dealer in both your home state and Alaska that would be willing to ship the guns for you. I sure there woukd be some cost involved.
