Question about EEG
Published (2008-11-20 03:21:00)
Munchy! I cannot tolerate the photo-activating lights very well during EEG's, they cause similar effect as you experience and sometimes I get these kaleidoscopic effects, very similar to a nocturnal aura that I get and I have to look away from them, they cause me to tremble. I actually whimper when they want to go photic! There are special types of photic lights that they use, and not just strobe lights. The problem is, they do not...

Aloha, I actually live on Oahu (the gathering place). While I am not native I am kama'aina. The culture here is based on beauty, the land, the laguage, and the culture as a whole. Music and the language are integral. I think even if I move back to the mainland, I will always intermix English with Hawaiian because it is so expresive and gentle. Even 'garbage' sounds better in Hawaiian, 'opala'! Mahalo for for looking it...

with sixpack abt the B6. The advantage of keppra is it doesn't get metabolized by the liver. If you have liver disease then it's probably better to take it. If however your liver's fine and you feel the mood changes are debilitating , then you can ask them for another drug. What drugs have you tried? Re: your wanting children , i suggest you plan it carefully with your partner. Many anti seizure medications are capable of...

Question about EEG
Published (2008-11-19 15:16:00)
I can't respond directly here as to whether you had a seizure or didn't but I do know that techs, while they may know if you had a seizure, aren't supposed tell you how the test looked or anything like that. I do know that some techs will tell sometimes but technically they are supposed to let the radiologist or neurologist or cardio (depending on the test) read the test and let them tell you all about it. I agree the tech...

Quote : While I've read about ketegenic diets for seizures, I've heard they are quite difficult to stay on. Honestly I don't know how some people manage it. The MA can't be lumped in with the ketogenic diet when it comes to things like that. The MA can give you benign dietary ketosis and you can stay on it for life. The true ketogenic diet can only be stayed on for a few years at a time. With the MA you can eat most of the...

Hey, I had my first EEG today, well, a video EEG, wasn't expecting that! Anyway, It was fine until we got the the flashing light part. I've never noticed having any photosensitivity and I didn't have a seizure, but it was extremely unpleasant. It was worse while I had my eyes closed, I had a sort of diamondy, coloured pattern on my eyelids, that was changing, it was very psychadelic really! ...

I had a dentist appt. today for 2 fillings. Have you ever noticed that you can't do the things you used to be able to do before you had Epilepsy? I don't know whether it is because of Epilepsy, brain damage, meds, or the bumps on my noggin, but I don't work the same as I used to. Simple math is NOT simple. I used to be so good at math and now, I have not one memory of how to do that. It's depressing. And when I learn something new, it...

1) Usually, I have your typical Tonic Clonic Seizures. Last night, I was standing up in my bedroom and was "aware" that I was seizing. I felt my body stiffen then, out of control I was still standing and began seizing. I was able to through myself onto the bed, out of harms way. I continued seizing in total confusion. This was the most horrifying seizure because I was aware of it happen to me. I ...

I usually had 15 to 20 seizures a month, absence, simple partial, complex partial, for over 20 years. But August 16 I had a grand mal seizure and then I went 61 days without any seizure of any kind. On October 16, I had a small grand mal seizure that involved only my right leg, but since then I haven't had any seizure of any kind. It's weird, too, but both of the grand mal seizures ...

I was curious if there is a correlation between seizures occuring more often during a full moon. Have a few friends who recently had seizures and I noticed it was at or close to the full moon. I need to check when I last had seizures and see if it was around a full moon or not. Just one of those things that popped into my mind.
