My question is, I bought a few small games fron iTunes since I'll be getting an iPhone in a few months anyway, can I safely assume that most apps don't connect and upload/download data without my knowing it? I have to arrange a return visit to fine tune a dish over that way (not far from the pool). So will pm you if when I can do that and try and come to you as well. Time for me is the biggest issue but that's family life I guess.

Basically, anybody who purchases one of these devices with their eyes open and having done their homework should have no complaints about functionality afterwards. Comparing one with the other is interesting, but at the end of the day simply shows that they are different, or more fit for a particular purpose, not that one is "better". As a wise man said further up the thread - horses for courses. I've been checking out...

An update on the 4 LNBs --> 2 x 4/1 diseqc switch --> twin tuner thing: Spoke to my friend again yesterday and he mentioned that last Monday he tried to record Fringe on SF2, Califirnication on TSR1 and Heroes on BBC HD at the same time. One of them was cut off (can't remember which one) halfway through because the other one started. Even though 2 of them are on the same transponder, it could not record both at the same time...

This rumour forgets to mention that the new camera is also supposed to add autofocus, if that makes a difference. An OLED screen has the potential of being a substantial upgrade over the previous model, but I don't think it will come to fruition. Regardless of how incremental this update will be, it will probably still be greater than the last one.

Hi all,
This may be slightly OT, although this is the nearest thread I can find to my question.
I have an iPhone 3G, my carrier being O2 in the UK. I'd like to port my iPhone over to a .ch network, but I think jailbreaking will be out of the question for me, as i'm a member of the Apple Dev Con, for iPhone app coding -- I highly suspect it would invalidate my membership.
Question is, ...

TomTom is the best, buy the biggest screen you can afford
Or alternatively: if you have a Windows Mobile phone, put TomTom on that.

I am assuming you have access to a domestic broadband installation in the UK. If so, just change both routers (UK and Swiss) to one a model that incorporates a hardware VPN? http://www.draytek.co.uk/products/vigor2820.html
A broadband VPN is not going to be a fast solution for game playing and may suffer from latency problems due to encryption, decryption and asymetric speeds of both links....

Do you have a firewall? Perhaps your machine has been taken over by a
botnet and is sending out millions of spam emails. More common than you
think... You can troubleshoot this by placing a good firewall on your
machine and block all outgoing traffic and see what the firewall detects. I
used to use Zone Alarm on windows, but now use a home-built Linux box.

Check swisscom for Bluewin TV or Cablecom online. Packages are available from both.
OR you can get a Skybox and dish to install and get a few hundred channels (not all great)

If you can switch to PAL and it can handle 220V I see no reason why it
shouldn't work.

A mouthwatering prospect for Flow23.
Set your alarm clock.
Tomorrow Sunday 29th December 2009 at 12:15, Morrissey (who's a bit reclusive) is interviewed on one of BBC Radio 4's flagship shows, Desert Island Discs http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00p068y
Should be insighful.
By the way, you can very easily listen to live or pre-recorded BBC radio shows from anywhere in the world...
