Reset problem

Hi ... With Photoshop you have the option of creating tool presets for setting that you use a lot ... but Elements doesn't have this. I did try changing a setting in the Dodge Tool, closing down Elements and then reopening it ... and the setting seemed to stay OK, but I didn't have time to reboot the computer to check if its still OK after that as I am rushing to get to our Christmas Fayre. Could someone else check it out please Wendy

Those paths are the internal folder paths Windows uses to reference files that have been placed in the Recycle Bin. Normally, of course, the PSE catalog should never reference such a location; I can only make half-educated guesses as to how they ended up in your catalog. But the important thing is to figure out how to remove them from your catalog. What are the results of doing the steps in my previous post:...

Are these the arrows you're talking about, Charlotte? If so, I'm not sure what you've got going on... those drop-down arrows have always worked for me. Have you tried exiting Elements and restarting it? Diana

Another paper size question
Published (2009-11-23 17:41:00)
The majority of what I create is 4x6 or 5x7 flat cards. My printer has an option for A4 and A5 in the page set-up but not A6 (4x6) or B6 (5x7) for some reason. Do these two sizes have another name? There is a "J Postcard" option but I can't find anything that tells what that is.

Sometimes if you are not "active" or typeing a long post, the forum times you out. I know that has been the case with me. I was wondering the same thing as well. I wonder if the "time out" feature could be lengthened.

DJ, thanks for reply. As you know I am on Vista Home Premium and Elements 4 works perfectly in all aspects apart from loading the organizer ( catalogue ). The collections and tags are all listed but we have no access because the programme is continually try to download the organizer ( looking for a missing file ? ). The only way to close the programme is Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Hope you can help, Mike

I haven't experimented to see if I can duplicate your results but at an outside guess I'd say try having the background layer selected before trying to add canvas.

I don't think filters make a photo "Sharp" or "Clear". Sharpness comes from having good camera holding technique (or using a tripod), and appropriate shutter speeds and/or apertures.

I use PSE5. I do not see double arrows in the right upper side of the full edit window. There is a single arrow indicating "more" options for the palettes, but that is all. What version of PSE are you using?

Hi ... ... and welcome to the Village Bridge is a sort of souped up filebrowser that you get with Photoshop and also you get it with the Mac version of Elements. (The Mac version doesn't have the Organiser). So unless you are going to get Photoshop then Bridge isn't an option ... Hopefully one of the others will explain about Lightroom as it is not something I use Wendy

Mollie, I open PDFs all the time in PSE6, and I have never ended up with more than one layer. But perhaps these are special files. Perhaps someone else has an answer. Is this a free template file that others could go get and try it, or something you paid for? Jeff
