Yeah sort of see where you're comin from claret, but my point is you're gonna get more out of it than just 40 quid don't you think? Let's say you get a job interview for the same kind of work down the line. As im sure most sparks would agree, EXPERIENCE is everything in this game. They ask you if you have any, and after a little bit of "creative" thinking you say three months and blag a load of stuff about...

i wonder if they do leaflets on triple heart bypass or any other simple task the problem is people armed with a little knowledge are more dangerous than those with none ,as they wont attempt a job... "electrics scare me" they say instead of "i rewired my house on my own in a day and a half it was easy"

Right can of worms I've opened up hey? It was just 4 days, nothing permanent PAYE, but the fact that I was being asked to do min 8-10hrs connecting up for that rate is nothing short of an insult! If others are quite happy to take that as there's little else then you'll always be taking that rate. I can't see when things begin to move that the employer's mindset on wages will shift with it? That job must have no real...

Ater being out of work for 9 months I have been working in a non skilled job for past 2 months earning £5.80 per hr, I have seen sparks jobs locally for £6 and £7 per hr which is an insult to any real spark. I am happier where I am at the moment than sparkin for that kind of money. except now you are not gaining any electrical installation etc etc experiance so when things pick up youre much less likely to get the better paying work. be...

I have been at this game for 18 years on jib approved rate for 11 years so £5.80 an hr doing a non skilled job was a big come down for me but anyone taking people on locally are not paying much better than what im on now because they know someone will work for that kind of money. I can understand firms not giving the next pay rise but alot of firms are just taking advantage.

Contact your local building control in writing and ask them to reply in writing, building controls differ in what they require from you some insist on part p others dont know what it is. hello I've just done the DISQ course at the NICEIC headquarters in Dunstable, which was very intense but on the whole very good. I've now completed my jobs and awaiting an inspector to come and look over 2 of my jobs, i have all the releant books and paperwork in order.I wanted to know how thorough the calculations for circuit design have to be to prove that on paper these circuits will work....
