BBC iplayer in Ireland?
Published (2009-12-27 22:13:00)
Thanks for that- using foxyproxy allowed me to watch the iplayer (but not to download for some reason). If anybody else is interested, there are some useful tutorials on using foxyproxy with iplayer on youtube.

Do you use firefox? If not you should and install foxyproxy. This will manage your proxy server connections. Then go to a site with a proxy server list, such as www.samair.ru/proxy/ , put it in and it should work. It can depened on the proxy server whether or not you'll be able to see so just try a few. It's worked for me in the past but I've not checked recently so I'm not sure if the BBC have banned proxy's or not.

Computer going idle at work.

Is there any way I can get around my computer going idle at work. Since I don't have the admin rights I can't change any of windows properties or download any software to do it. Any ideas?

Just got a version of this for the Mac and it does work as it says - 44 free streaming UK tv channels on your computer. Quality's not bad (see screen grab). Handy for those who might want to see Europa Cup games on Five and ITV4 next week. https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/1808775/britishtv-mac. zip
