Again, Fordguy misses the point. Instead of blaming the unions for everything in business, why don't you right wingers consider the ever INCREASING cost of health insurance. I don't give a rat's patutie on the cost of health care benefits in the newer Toyota plant, its the idea that it is growing much faster than the inflation rate & much faster that the actual pay rate of the employee- it doesn't matter if it is a...

Dave wrote: Once again, Fordguy, you make lame arguments. There are many teachers that teach in our school system that are not union members. Most states have a "right to work" law prohibiting forced union membership. There are 22 right-to-work states; given that we have 50 states, it's obvious that "most" are not right-to-work states ("most" would be at least a majority, and a...

Apparently it was easier to improperly restrain the patient, inflicting emotional if not also physical harm to the patient than it was to do her job? Meanwhile the patient is still exposed to their fecal matter...

I don't know how it is in Hawaii...probably the same as here in PA. Pedestrians also bear some responsibility. Prior to attempting to cross the street, they should be sure no on-coming vehicle are coming so fast, they can't stop in time.

I truly beleive that this person was innocent and sometimes employers are too fast to point fingers or report things without investigating first. Miss weller is a decent person and a wonderful nurse. I hope she can find someone who will trust her and hire her. just another friend

It sounds to me like Prairie Lodge was proactive in trying to have the man placed in a facility that could manage Alzheimers-related dementia, both before and after the first incident. Having said that, they should have instituted a 1:1 staff ratio for this particular patient and continued to press the issue with the county. There is absolutely no excuse for a second or third assault on the co-...

This editorial says the projected deficit is $800,000. It is actually $8.1 million. This hospital is in major trouble. Also, if you read Palmisano's "demands" for a partner, they are ludicrous. He essentially said, "We expect you will do absolutely nothing but give us money to wipe out our debt and then leave us alone to do what we've been doing for years, which is what put us in this mess." Good...

Mantria's "green" community in Van Buren county, TN (Indian Trail) is built in a WWII era artillery range. The Corps of Engineers recommended that one section be stripped to bare rock before development due to frag & live munitions. Most of the rest would require excavation crews to be trained on what to do if they encounter live shells. There is no utility water. Ground water is impacted by ...
