It's all about the personnel. If you hire bad seeds, they do poor work. No shop in the world will be worht a crap if you don't hire good people. We see our ups and downs with personnel. CSI goes up with good techs. Drops with crappy ones. My thoughts on the water pump: Do you wait until the timing belt breaks before you replace it? Do you wait for cords to show on all your tires and lose air everyday before replacing them? Do you...

I have always ran Gates belts, and never had any problems. One of your belts is probably just a little loose. Check the alternator one like Only1db said.

coastal hyundai had a csi score of 920+ while i was there...and why would a customer PAY for something that is still under warranty?? that is stupid and wastefuf and shows that the dealership is ripping off the person buy selling them parts and labor that is unneeded. i can see why cypher's shop would do it because they are NOT a dealership...but a dealership ( i have been at three of them and none of them did it) doing it is just...

Well $2 later I have a set of Autolite class E wires from the yard. I saved $50 returning the new Autolite wires. I agree it might NOT be the best idea BUT wires don't go bad on me that often and they were were the same brand and looked in good shape. I did read somewhere else the difference in class E and F was that F was better when it comes to heat. Keep ya posted if things don't work out.

the alt belt needs to be tightened.... but to do all three.... power steering...there is a 14mm bolt untop and another one on the bottom of the pump. loosen them until the pump can move...pull it toward you and tighten the top bolt while pulling on the pump...i believe its supposed to have 5mm of defelction. wich means if you press down on the belt it will go 5mm (IIRC) altenator/...

Judging by your post, you definitely can't make it yourself. But here's a few pointers: Any shop could do it, you just need to use oil that's known to be good, not something that is good because it's cheap. There is no filter on your tranny, simple draining via draining plug and then refill from the top refill plug. You can see the bolts here http://www.elantraxd.com/forums/show...65&...

There is no interval to change the spark plug wires. You need to visually inspect the boots and insulate part for cracks. Other than that you should measure the resistance of each wire individually. Using a DVOM, set it to 20,000k or 20K. For a wire a foot or so, the resistance should be between 6.00 to 7.00 ohms. For a 24 inch wire, about 7.50 to 9.00 ohms. For a 30 inch wire, about 9.00 to...

Speed sensor A range/performance. Input speed sensor. A lot of the time, both input and output speed sensors need to be replaced at the same time, at least this is the experience from members here.

C is the fill bolt (17 mm). The drain bolt is under the transmission, near the driver axle, and IIRC is 24 mm, so you really can't miss it. What bolt did you drain from?

headbolts are as follows. there are two different bolts m10 and two m12's the m10 goes to 18lbs then turn the torque wrench 60-65 degrees, then another 60-65 degrees the m12 goes t0 22 lbs then the same 60-65 + 60-65 btw snap on makes a very kickass tool for this! camshaft bearing bolts are 10-11ft/lbs all info is straight out of my 03 shop manual.
