You could always pay a shop to do it. Or get different wheels/tires, I suppose.

My thoughts would be cheap battery got drained completely and now it won't hold a charge anymore. If there was a short then something would have caught on fire already. As long as there are no weird high power aftermarket accessories like microwaves and refrigerators then your battery shouldn't do that. Brand new, take it to the dealer and have them test the battery. If it happens again demand that they change it.

Check the battery first before you assume that you have a draw going on. (Draw is the word you're looking for, not short). You guys get some ridculously cold weather up there so I wouldn't be surprised if sitting for awhile killed it.

Check the upper radiator hose. I replaced my T-stat and I guess the stock clamp thing didn't seat right and it started a very slow leak. The hose was fine, it was the dumb snap clamp thing. I "normal" clamp worked just fine. I smelt it, then noticed the white residue from burnt off coolant on the hose below it. Headgasket problems seem very rare with the beta.

By "heat" which selection do you have on the knob - because if it's a setting where it is blowing on the windshield, you are running heat through the A/C condenser (to dry the air before it's blown on the windshield). Using A/C always robs power. Do your lights dim or anything when you turn on the heat?
