Harsh, I thought that on reading it too.   Just for info- many of the tasks mentioned for nurses earlier are done by auxiliary nurses nowadays, with qualified nurses often doing more technical tasks.  However, given that they get intensive training for the area they work in- degree entry looks like a con http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/details/Default.aspx?Id=485

Pointless Qualifications.

The ITQ 2 was free because I am on jobseeker's allowance. I did that on Saturday mornings 9-1 at our local learning shop and loved it. For ITQ 3 I got the fee off the jobcentre but it was run at the actual college site where I'd been accused of making a fraudulant application to join the Level 5 specialist qualification in teaching literacy  (this to build on my City and Guilds 9281 Teaching Literacy...

Unqualified Learning Mentors
Published (2009-11-26 09:42:00)
there are cases where posts are advertised but externally only, so peeps in the school itself have no idea So one morning a Learning Mentor turns up at Reception and says "Hi, I'm your new LM.  Where can I meet the HT?" If a job is advertised externally, it is the responsibility of the applicant to look for it.

And I also seem to remember that one of your minions here happened to say that ocean sediments were akin to a Gold Standard to this type of research.. Of the millions of cars in the UK, the Police stopped your husband in your car on the very day the insurance appeared to the Police computers (which possibly don't keep up with the update schedule of every online insurer in the land) and pulled him? They spotted a random car proceeding in an orderly manner and just decided to run its plates? Have you ever been hit or hurt by an ...

What you write is sadly all too common in teaching. I left a school because I was just fed up of exactly the behaviour you outlined - cliques freezing others out (including myself on occasions), deliberately withholding information to make another person look stupid, talking loudly about a FANTASTIC evening in the pub (yeah, right) they had all had the night before in front of someone...

It probably will turn out to have all been pointless in the end. Remember Lord Hutton sitting looking all severe and badass for four months? Everyone expected Blair to be privately drafting his resignation letter. But in the end the old pr*ck let him away with murder (literally!) and the Butler report wasn't much better - although it did, at least, contain a little bit of condemnation ...
