Zig Zag Education SOW - worth...

I have to disagree with previous post.  Have just received resources for WJEC GCSE topics this year and they are extremely helpful - you can print up into booklet form for the students to use in class/for revision, and all likely topics/questions appear to be covered.  For the money - it saves me hours and hours.

Get the "Doing Ads" book and DVD from the English and Media centre - lots of stuff with lots of good Levis ads.

That would be brilliant elliej, thanks very much. The outline will really help- we obviously have no real sense of how long each topic would take to teach. We were advised that WJEC was best for non-specialists though, as it is more didactic. Is that fair comment? tophut22@yahoo.co.uk

And once again, the TES has compacted all of my carefully structured paragraphs into one - thus making my comments even more random than they originally were!  Sigh!

Hello, I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses to help. MediaEdu is a great resource for materials and although you are not following their spec, AQA does have a Useful Sites  area with links to resources and 'guidance for dummies' in areas such as narrative, storyboarding and ICT. Hope that helps but there are plenty of people out there more knowling than I am who will also supply you with stuff.

There is usually an INSET especially for new Centres in June - in London. Could be a good bet?

I tackle them both at the same time with no problems. If you use the module advice off the WJEC website it gives you plenty of info and prompt style questions to aid their ananlysis of these concepts. Good luck!

Zig Zag Education SOW - worth...
Published (2009-11-27 16:58:00)
Stay clear away from Zig Zag Education. I found their resource below standard, lots of mistakes, and errors, tried to tell them and got some bad customer service over the phone. This guy called Mike Stephens (think he is a director or something) wasnot too impressed with me telling them about the mistakes I had found. Decided not to buy from them again, and after some time, 4 months, managed to get my money back. Wasnot worth all the...

Hi Becky I am doing the same but focus is firmly in English, Maths and Science so we have had no mention. I was planning on making one (!!?!!) for my two classes- God knows when though. Have done mocks last 3 years- worked ok. How are you finding the course? I think I have spent too long on assignment ONE and TWO so going to try to get these finished asap and start assignment THREE...

I have used several - but be selective. You can view all resources on line [they have sample written across them but you can read most of it]. I have bought the Media Dictionary for ASA2 and found it invaluable, also the representation pack.
