But the key to lower priced sensors is getting your local place to install them for you because they'd rather install their own at jacked up prices. I was able to buy an OBDII scanner for my wife's Durango and my Dakota for $50 when we owned them and successfully diagnosed and purchased the correct upstream and downstream O2 sensors cheaply at separate times when the time came for each and precheck that I'd pass emissions and...

I drive them forever. Both my cars are over 10 and I still wish they had TPMS. I tend to get a flat a year. I don't see any cheap car parts out there anymore, but TPMS sensors will probably come down a bit since all the new cars have to have them. eBay has aftermarket ones for $43 now.

It turns out that the PCV valve blew, he had asked me why I was driving it in the cold because that cause the valve to constrict and blow he also told me that the engine noise is common when it gets cold out! The person in the first blog mentioned that the noise was more apparent in the cold. Just trying to warn people that maybe this isnt the best vehicle when in cold temperatures ie (-33).

PCV valve - interesting. -33 is pretty extreme. For my 08 Outlander (U.S. market) I think the owners manual says something about the transmission not functioning below -31 until it warms up a bit.   Thanks for getting back with the update.

Another shout-out for the V6 six-speed. Great powertrain. Mine ('07 AWD LS) has been problem free except for one recall when it was new.

Mitsubishi Outlander Long Term...
Published (2009-01-02 22:07:00)
I was just about to buy an Outlander and now find that there is only one dealership in the whole of the Portland area. This has made me have serious second thoughts with regards to keeping the warranty up. I think Mitsu's are great cars, but car owners need a support network. Vancouver, Salem and Beaverton have all closed their dealerships. I called Mitsubishi and they said they have lots of calls regarding the distance to their local...

1. XLS, V6, 6 spd auto. This is a great combination: good power to weight ratio, good (not great) fuel economy - 20-21 mpg in warm weather, and only 18-19 mpg now. No problems with towing. I towed fully loaded U-haul trailer for over 700 miles round trip last summer without the sweat. If you plan to carry some cargo or few people often, with AC on - get V6. Otherwise - 4cyl will do. 2. 1500# is not that much, trailer itself can weight 600-800#...

Smooth ride, handles well, very comfortable seats and car like ride. Feels like a luxury SUV. Didn't like the Santa Fe and the Mazda Tribute has rear drum brakes.  I know I made the right choice and loving it.

Recently purchased an 2008 Outlander, and so far have put 143 km on it. A great vehicle to say the least. So I noticed an engine noise after pulling into my garage. You have to turn off the radio, and air vents to hear it. It's hard to describe, but if you have ever used a kitchen timer that winds up, it would sound like that when it is counting down, a slight ticking noise. When ...

I'm a huge Mitsubishi car fan. I'm on numbers 2 and 3 now and thinking of getting a new Outlander. In the Portland, Oregon/Vancouver, Washington area we now have 3 Mitsubishi dealers. Every dealership I have bought a vehicle from has went out of business. My first Mitsubishi was a 1997 Mirage LS Coupe, Bangkok blue. What a great car. I drove it 9 years with no problems at all. That dealer Gatewy ...

I just bought an aftermarket wheels not from Mitsubishi. Does anyone know how to turn off the Tire Pressure monitoring system (TPMS)? Is it worth purchasing the TPMS and having it installed on wheels. I have it on the steel rims which I am using for my Winter tires.

Hi All - I purchased a leftover, about 60 miles on it, '07 Outlander in February. In March I had to have my wheel bearings replaced. I've had the car back three times now because I have to fight to keep it in my lane (definitely at 60 mph and higher, but it happens at slower speeds too). Also, sometimes taking off quickly in a right turn the steering wheel freaks out to where I have to grip the ...

Three years ago I bought a Garmin GPS18 which comes with a receiver with a USB connector to be connected to my 15” screen laptop. We used this devise during our adventure journeys to America, Central, South American, Western Europe and Easter Europe. Hello, I have an '07 Outlander XLS 4WD V6 with the 30GB HDD Nav / Rockford Fosgate audio system. Recently I had a slight accident and although the car was not damaged on the outside and no one was hurt, a hard object flew into the screen of the Nav system and shattered it. I contacted my local dealer service center and asked if it was possible to only get the screen replaced and he ...
