Winter is here and my heater is acting funny. I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and sometimes the heat comes on after 30min and sometimes it takes cranking my Jeep up several times or more before it will work. Had the thermostat changed, heater coil flushed and bought new control panel. This is driving me crazy. Any suggestions?? Thank's sooo much....

suprises me just how often "primitive methods" still work in our modern world.. your old lock cylindeer might have been just fine with a good dose of lock lube-graphite.grease..after-of course, you get it unstuck!..wonder just where dude hit it to get it to loosen?// ya see, i'm in that category of "i barely can afford gas,and a couple grand to have the service dept put in a new lock cylinder...well..i'd probably have...

Well we finally got it. After the fact I was told you can pound a penny nail into the lock to help release it. We took the cylinder canister off the column and ground down the stud that was keeping the cylinder in. Slapped in the new lock cylinder and put it all back together. Saved a lot on labor charges. Thanks all

Jeep Cherokee Start Stall Idle...
Published (2009-01-01 11:07:00)
I probably caused this - I am experiencing a check engine light suddenly as well as a high idle (2K) at start. This all happened after I detailed the motor. I also loosened and forgot to tighten the radiator cap during the same cleaning. I feel that I either have air in the cooling system which needs to be let out (not certain where the valve is for this) or I pulled a sensor or vacuum tube loose (which I can't find) or I broke the idle...

Jeep Cherokee (All): Prices Paid...
Published (2009-01-02 10:31:00)
Thank you for the reply. The price I was quoted was $23,995 before taxes and title. After I got to the dealership ready to do the deal the salesman then told me that he made a mistake and the price was actually $25,200. I walked out.

Clip is correct. There are 2 temp sensors, one for the fans, and one for the temp gauge. Disconnect 1 at a time to find out which is which. The fan sensor will be obvious, because the fans will start when you unplug the sensor. You can also try, the cooling fan relays, located in the power distribution center that is under your hood.(these usually house all the maxi fuses and relays). I find that the cooling fan relay is identical to another...

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee sport that keeps blowing the airbag fuse causing the airbag light to come on. I replace the fuse and within 5 minutes of driving it blows again. Any ideas?

My airbag light stayed on and I thought it was the fuse too. I took it to the shop and they found that they connection in the back was loose. He plugged it back in and it never came on again. Might be that simple. Good luck!

I'm having the same problem with my 2004 4.0 six cylinder. Haven't been able to find source yet either. If you find out the problem please post the cause, & I'll do the same.

I migh add to my message that just before and found this heat problem I had disconnected the neg terminal to clean it and replaced. Today I removed the neg terminal and then the positive terminal and waited a few minutes. Reconnected them and had heat both sides. I was very excited about this. I shut the car off and inside to tell my wife. She later wanted to run an errand and when we ...

I know that this is got to be the silliest question out there, but I cannot find the turn signal flasher relay on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. The Haynes manual says that it's in the right front control panel...not there, not under the hood either. Unless I am completely blind, I didn't see it under the steering column either. Can someone help me out and tell me its location, because I'm either a ...

'00 XJ L6 4.0 auto tranny This Jeep has been giving me difficulty cranking for quite a while, however it got worse and worse every day this week. This last time, it took at least 15 minutes to get it to fire up, whereas it would normally crank after a minute of trying. The trouble occurs only the first time the Jeep is driven for the day. Once it cranks, it's good to go for the rest of ...

I own a 96 Cherokee with 141600 miles and have never done a thing with the transmission at all from day 1. It runs great, shifts and still does 80 with not a problem. What concerns should I be looking for in later mileage? This is the only car I have never done a thing with on the transmission, it is the workhorse of the family and is always on the road; unfortunately I have neglected "The Red...

it's happened a few times. i'm thinking its the headlight relays and i hope it isn't cause they are costly. though i did just change out all the lights while driving on the road at night the headlights will just shut off. i pull on my high beams and those always work, and when i let go of the switch they shut off again. i timed it, and it takes at least 5 minutes of me pulling on the ...
