did emanuel steward make hearns duck him? no but mccalum was going to be fighting duran but then hearns fought him instead did hagler and duran also dodge him? duran kind of ducked him but he got more money for fighting hearns so anyone would have rather fought hearns if he fought hagler what would have happened? lost a UD as a middle weight how do u rate him? as sweet pea says would he have beaten eubank and benn in 1991? i think he would hae...

I'm not talking about knockdowns or knockouts late in a fight, but bouts specifically where one fighter wins the vast majority of first 5-12 rounds, but instead of keeping doing what works, he fights even harder to end the fight with a stoppage. The opposite of what Dela Hoya did against Trinidad, if you will. For instance, i heard that Monzon dominated the first two thirds of the rematch...

This would be an interesting match. W. Klit is one of the best offensive fighter ever. Thomas in his prime was as good as any heavyweight. Who would win a fight between the two?

at lightweight who wins? if gatti trys to use boxing like how he tried to box against tracy harris-patterson then i think gatti could stop gannigan in the later rounds. i think if they went toe to toe, i would think that gannigan could stop gatti with his difficult style and incredable power.

I've been think about this fight since watching the Thrilla in Manilla documentry having noticed how small Frazier looked. I used to think Ali would beat Marciano in a one sided 15 round UD, but now I have changed my mind. I have changed my opinion in part due to how a washed up Joe Fraizer almost killed Ali. In my opinion Frazier was not a great heavyweight by any means. His record was ...

I know he fought in the same era as one of the greatest middle weights of all time. He also had some nice wins in his career, especially a trio over Briscoe. If you look at the bulk of his work in his prime, only Monzon defeated him and then at the end a younger Corro. I think he is definitely a top 20 mw, maybe top 15. Opinions?

I just watched the `Thrilla in Manila` documentary for the very 1st time last night & fuck me, Joe Frazier sure aint letting this thing go with Ali is he ? I heard that Joe still holds a grudge & I can understand why as even as an Ali fan, I know Ali went too far, Joe seems like a good man & didnt deserve that shit. I was a bit shocked just HOW MUCH of a grudge Joe still held.... his ...

I have always been quite fascinated with Jim Jeffries' life story and history as both a man and a boxing champion. One of the things that I think is commonly overlooked, is the fact that he won the heavyweight title with less than a dozen pro fights - a feat that would not be duplicated for nearly another 80 years. He won this title by convincingly knocking out another all time great, and one ...

Many posters have compared these two in style. Now it's time to see who would have actually won in a head to head fight. 15 rounds. Frazier who just defeated Ali in '71. Against Iron Mike which just demolished Spinks in one round.

It would be interesting to see some classic opinions on this. Consider not only the strategy to be employed in the ring but also training and preparations.

Would Muhammad Ali have been too slick for Mike Tyson? Would Lennox Lewis have stood up to Joe Louis? Is Sugar Ray Robinson greater than namesake Leonard? We will never know the answers, but go to our 606 website and questions of this kind are discussed at length every day. To facilitate the debates, BBC Sport has set up a new "legends selector", where boxing brainiacs ...

I just found this old list I had found on-line and printed out about 7 or 8 years ago. The URL it came from is long gone now, which is a shame because there was a quick analysis that went along with each pick, but here is the list itself. Keep in mind, it only covers up to the year 2000 (so don't go asking me where John Ruiz is!! ). 1) Damiani 2) Morrisson 3) Bentt 4) Leon Spinks 5) ...
