Hugh and gib Here you go-stole your idea.I think it is probably important to define the goals of this thread, which hugh already began to define.I think if one posts a car it should for one be identified as a werks, customer, factory kit ,or other catagory.Should have some documentation to go along with the id.Since,i am sure there can be alot of confusion as to what is real and an imposter. It will be a difficult thread but well worth the effort....

Good stuff Chuck. So what is it, do you have leather sport seats of vinyl? That seems to be the only difference. Edit: Re-reading the letters I guess they both could be correct, just saying different things about the interior. One saying leather seats the other vinyl interior. Agreed Rick, those days are sure gone.

I am the proud owner of a very well sorted '95 Carrera 4 (993). After spending a year and $$$ to get the car in perfect condition, I'm now starting to feel the pull of an early 911...Not an "S" but possibly a "T" or even an "E." Although my 993 has ice cold a/c, a very fast and torquey (for me) motor and a ton of upgrades (everything from a top-notch respray, to a fresh top-end, suspension, RS...

Steering wheel guys, OK, what are the certified facts on 1973 RS car steering wheels? The PET lists 380mm leather 911 347 084 00 as the RS wheel; are there any with this number stamped on them? Regularly seen for a true, "authentic RS steering wheel" are these part numbers: 914 347 805 10 and 914 347 806 10. Which is the real deal or are they both correct?! Note: from personal ...

About a half a year after I bought my ’73 in 1989 I figured it was about time to send away for something to ‘officially’ tell me if what I bought was in fact what I had. So, not knowing who to contact, I first tried Porsche Cars North America. About a month later I got this first letter in the mail About a year later I tried the same thing (and also inquired about where to find a ‘real’ ’72...

When I bought my '73S in '89 this issue of the Porsche PANDEMONIUM (PCA Orange Coast Region News Letter) came with the car's records. This January 1973 issue has a couple interesting pictures of the same car. This very cool car obviously ran out of Bill Yates Dealership and was modified by Al Martinez to look like an ST. The photos in this issue were taken in '72 and Martinez, Dan McLaughlin, and...

I'm trying to collect the accessories that Porsche produced or commissioned during the 911 early years. Here are two: 1. Porsche Radio produced for Sonauto (Porsche's French importer): 2. An umbrella/stool commissioned in England by the Factory: Do you have others to share here?

I was browsing around the Red Book last night and saw some numbers for the umpteenth time that I have always interpreted one way - and saw that it was possible to interpret it another. Under the O Series Production Numbers it list: 1967 911 Coupe - 3,421 (VINs 305101-308522) The number makes sense if you subtract the VIN's. But then, as we know, it states that 911S's had the same ...

have a 73Sthat has been turned into somewhat of a 73/74 rs clone,I put pics on Pelican on a thred called introducing my new toy and I don't know how to provide a link. I am thinking to sell as I can't afford to keep both this car and my 87 conv but values I guess would determine which one goes.Iknow you guys are the experts and just wondered what your thoughts would be.Thanks in advance,Marty
