Converting LP's to MP3's?
Published (2009-01-07 05:47:00)
Yep, I have Audacity, so I'll give that a try. I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to run the turntable through a pre-amp, so I'm going to run it through my home receiver that has phono inputs. The only problem is that when I got the turntable out of the box, the belt had pretty much disintegrated, lol. So I need to get downtown to get a new belt & probably pick up a new needle as well.

When I'm not Dj'ing I use MediaMonkey, rids the problems of wmp/winamp. Otherwise I usually use mixmeister. What kind of car do you have? We do plenty of bypass installs at the shop and dependiing on the car, you may not have to buy an expensive harness. A deck to do what I mentioned will cost about a buck fifty, and you gotta buy a hdd either way you go, so the price of that really shouldn't be considered. You're pretty...

I didn't know what IEM until you said so. I thought all ear phones that looked like that where "ear buds". But to answer your question after finding out what IEM is, I am looking for IEM. Thanks for the link, I will drop by those forum for some research.

Old Soundcard vs. Onboard Audio

Absolutely 100% no doubt the Audigy is better than the onboard. I just picked up an Audigy 2zs from ebay and replaced the onboard sound on my P5Q Pro with it....no comparison. Even with cheap *** $20 walmart headphones.

Pre-Amp sounds like a good idea. It should help increase the overall quality of the recording too. Good luck!

Glad you are enjoying those - I was shocked too when I used HD555's instead of crappy 3$ ones (no sarcasm)

So my wife & I have a HUGE container of albums in our closet & I've been thinking of getting them converted. I've been looking at the ION turntables; http://www.ionaudio.com/extras/miscf...05MjUwLA%3D %3D But I don't know much about them. I also have a standard turntable in storage in the garage that I haven't used in years, but was ...

I'm looking for a 2.5" HDD enclosure with a built in media player (only needs to be able to play music), preferably one that does *not* include an HDD. My goal here is to use this in the car and hook it up to my car stereo. I need it to have a built-in LCD for navigating songs/folders/albums etc. I've found numerous 2.5" HDD PMP's but ...

I am in the market for new ear buds AGAIN. For some reason ear buds never seem to last for me, they either get broken or stolen from me. Most of the ear buds that I bought range from $20 to $150. In the past, I've used the FAQ on the stickies. It seems like that list is outdated but if all else fail, I can try and find them. I know the ...

So I have an old Soundblaster Audigy 2 that I have currently stuck into a quick build for my fiancee. Considering how old it is, am I really gaining anything with it compared to just using the onboard audio on my Biostar G31-M7 TE motherboard? Their specs claim 5.1 Channel HD audio. Also I am thinking about it because of using the front panel ...

So I've got $75 in the Pay-Pal account to spend on a new headset/headphones. I've been reading and reviewing stuff for the past hour or so, but I'd still like some opinions. Besides, my eyeballs kinda hurt from reading so much... What would you guys recommend? 99.9% gaming only. Positional sound is slightly more important to me than sound ...

I'm currently using Win XP Pro and now thinking of building a new Vista 64 system (with the new 45nm AMD quad core). I currently use a Creative Labs X-Fi Titanium PCI Express for a sound. Does Vista offer equal, better or worse sound for PC games?

Anyone know where I can get longer speaker cables? I'm just looking for something thin. All the ones I have found are real thick. I have the Z-5500's and I'm looking for cables around the same length and size as the longest one.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS and onboard Realtek HD audio. When I plug my speakers into either of these ports the audio is tinny and when a bass beat hits you can hear a ringing sound. When I plug the speakers into my Plantronics USB audio card though, the audio is perfectly fine. I just purchased a new pair of speakers too and the same thing is ...
