New monitor or not?

I have one more question. I know some monitors can be used as tv tunners and you can connect different systems like playstation and such, but is the picture quality still good or does it decrease?

IMO 16:9 is too wide. Obliviously id get a 1920 x 1080 over 1680x1050 if it was cheaper, but I prefer 16:10.

Wow. Thanks for the information! Well...I guess Ill just have to throw it away, as im sure it would be more to repair then its worth. But heck, I got a 16" crt along with this one for 10 bucks. the 16"er alone makes it worth it to me. Thanks again.

maybe I'll go to 24" 16:10 why they're still around as 16:9 seems to be what everyone is going to. Thanks to all who have chimed in.

I'll tell ya what, I came from 1680 X 1050 screens and went to the 1920 X 1080 setup and I am so happy I did, the additional space is awesome the problem with going from 1080 to 1200 tall is it's normally a good price jump

Yeah, same thing happened when we saw that our Sony home theater decoder couldn't read Pro Logic II, and one or two Dolby formats founds in some movies. My dad was, well, mad too. We also found like two years after buying our 24" Sony CRT TV that it did not support 480P... yet again mad End of the line? Sony is excellent on the marketing side. Salesman are ready to do ANYTHING to get you to buy that $2000 TV.

Is there any other strong magnet in your room? Have you physically moved the monitor to a different room and tried it there? This is a strange issue, and unless your neighbor is smuggling laboratory/military grade magnets in his house, this should not happen. Does your monitor make rattling noise when you shake it slightly?

Display Resolution : 1366 x 768 that means 1080i or 720p interlaced, shows half the image then the other half very fast http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001 249 <----- 40inch 720p on the egg at that size 1080p is less important, nice to have

A 24" would be a large step not only in quality, but in the performance you would need for it. 1920x1200 /1920x1080 is a lot harder on the GPU vs 1280x1024. What gpu are you currently running? Quote: guess nobody knows Give us some time lol.

Does the line flicker or go away if you move the screen up and down a bit? It's likely just a short in one of the wires. Replacing just the cable is cheap and simple enough.
