Whats your max oc on the HD4870

Here. Check this out. http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=65199 Additional Comment: You could look into flashing the Bios to like a 4890 I suppose. I don't know a whole lot about that stuff. I HW mod more personally.

Nice find. I dont want to do any hardware mods because of the warranty I have on it from XFX. From the article it seems that the BIOS mod is not really reliable.

I can only get to 750 with no voltage mods on my single 4850.

New card: 5770, 4870, or 4890?

Not to mention the 5770 has much much higher OC potential than the 4890. *Speaking from experience*

In the second edition of my "Thinking of going red" series, I'm wondering about GPU waterblocks that fit the 5870. Once again, Google has failed me. Either that or the only waterblocks on offer are full cover. My 9800GTX's are running full cover blocks and they cool the GPU insanely well, but I suspect that they're not properly covering the VRM's or something which may be the cause of 98% of the problems...

Additional Comment:
It's possible in theory but there are known driver concerns and I don't believe you will see much, if any, benefit over crossfiring 2 4830's. I would recommend crossfiring with another 4830 or selling your card and going with a more powerful single card solution. I don't ...

Unstable OC, sometimes it's not always stable on everything, to get it stable you need to try everything possible to make sure it's a good oc.

I am looking for a new card for Christmas and am having to settle with one of the 3 because the 5850 I wanted is rarely available and has shot up over $300 and is now outside of my price range (what can I say? LASIK sucks up a ton of money )
I have seen that the 5770 and 4870 trade blows on games and that the main benefit between the two ...

Ok. That was loaded all night. Temps, according to HWMonitor, reached a max of 85c, min of 75c and running 83c currently. Folded all night at 740mhz. Mem at 1199mhz. Looks pretty stable. This card is truly amazing. I've never really bothered until recently to OC video cards. Reason being is that Cpu's are easier for me to come by and replace..
Is there any way that I could do a hardware ...
