1.07 Orioles: Roberts may get extension The News The Baltimore Sun reports that there is a chance that Baltimore signs Brian Roberts to an extension before te season begins. The extension is believed to be worth around $10 million per season. Our View Roberts has generated trade interest from a number of teams over the past year, but an extension would likely put an end to those. He stole 40 bases last season and is among the very best fantasy...

Mark Hendrickson....yeah. I'm not complaining, we are the Orioles. It's just such a non-interesting signing that it's hard to have much of a response. Just a serviceable starter, which we need. So it's good, just not exciting.

I do hope the O's will sign a good starting pitcher. Last year was brutal to watch some of the pitching. (The hitting was all that spectacular either)

According to an article on Kenshin Kawakami that I Googled up, translating a Japanese Wikipedia entry, "Wikipedia mentions a friendly rivalry with Uehara — Uehara taught Kawakami his fork, while Kawakami returned the favor by teaching Uehara his cutter." I wonder if this signing increases the Orioles' odds of also landing Kawakami. Any thoughts? Link to Kawakami article that includes the above quote:...

This afternoon the New York Yankess signed free agent Mark Texieria to a 8 year, $180 Million dollar deal. The Orioles were the last team in the running for Texieria but in the end GM Andy McPhail stated 'it was too much to invest in one player and that the team would not be able to go foward with that much money in one guy.' Texieria will make $22.5 million a year. Money talks but Mark ...

Nationals reach deal with RHP Cabrera Cabrera Sources told MLB.com that the Nationals and Daniel Cabrera have come to terms on a one-year deal. The Mets and Pirates were in hot pursuit before Cabrera chose the Nationals. He'll replace Tim Redding in a rotation also set to include John Lannan and Scott Olsen. It again looks like free agent Odalis Perez will have to continue his career ...

For years, O's fans have been waiting for this offseason. I know he's an excellent hitter, fielder and has been durable. I know he's from Maryland ans grew up an O's fan. I know it would bump up the O's in relevance, ticket sales, etc. But for 8 years and 175 million? 10 years and 200 million? The cost is unbelievable, especially when you can find decent options at a ...
