Seriously, If Omar is trying to find out what he can get for Beltran, than he is just doing his job. Beltran has a full no trade clause, and we all know he wanted to replace Bernie Williams. Omar's only option might be the Yankees. So if Omar can fill neededpositions for for him, why not. Wright and Reyes shouldn't be traded, and I would agree that Beltran will be hard to replace but at the same...

Trading Beltran to the Yankees for a head case like Cano and two unproven pitchers like Kennedy and Bruney may be one of the dumbest moves the Mets make. Why we are all so concerned about the Mets breaking up the"core" is fan frustration and talk show hype. List a group of 4 players on any other team you would rather have. The closest I can think of is the Phillies with Howard Utley Rollins and ...

As I said on the A's board. Mets won't trade Reyes nor should they. Leadoff guys are almost impossible to get. Sweeney, Chavez, Street, Eveland and Casilla for Wright They can take a chance on Chavez at third and hope he's finally healthy. They can move Murphy to second. Add Street and Casilla to the pen which will help them a ton. Put Sweeney in the outfield and add Eveland to the rotation...

I know you guys were better than us in 2006. But is there 1 Mets fan who thinks that THIS years Mets team is better than my Phillies? F the head to head record.

"One pitch, one at-bat, one play, one situation, think 'small'and 'big' things result, tough at-bats, lots of walks, stay up themiddle with men on base, whatever it takes to 'keep the line moving' onoffense, 27 outs on defense. The Mets know you're better than they are. They remember last year. You guys are never out of a game. Welcome thechallenge that confronts you this weekend. You are ...

I say Reyes b/c there aren't a lot of great shortstops. 3b you can find and you can find one's that are better fielding 3b's than wright. what do you think?

While Mets fans discuss which free agents they will buy in the offseason to avoid embarrassment in '09, let's take a close look at this decade in Mets baseball by the numbers with 1 year remaining. 2000-2008 Payroll = $940.6 MILLION. That's almost 1 Billion dollars and will exceed that next year. Dramatically higher than any other team in the NL. Regular Season Record = 745-711 (That's a ....

Mets will not get into bidding wars...especially for Sabathia who will have about 8 teams going after him...There will be about 7 or 8 excellent SP out there available and a few maybe even by trade...Mets will pursue him, but may not be able to get him if it gets too high and it will.

All depends on payroll. Expect only one big contract with a few mid-size contracts and a few trades. The biggest need is a Closer. KRod will cost alot as free agent Fuentes is fine but older. He knows the NL hitters Street will cost prospects but is young Second need is a setup man. How important is one? Go back to 2006. Can't depend on Sanchez. The thrd is a starter. A 3rd pitcher in ...

I believe the Mariners are going to rebuild this year and trade away Putz. Omar should at least look at him. Soria from the Royals also might be available but might cost Martinez. We know that Beane isn't afraid to trade anybody, which makes Street available as well. Soria is the best of the bunch but Putz seems the most affordable espiecially with the season he just had. Krod's velocity and ...
