Why not go after proven young guys for the middle and back of the rotation so we know we can actually compete on any given night? Why not go after Andy Sonnanstine or Edwin Jackson via trade, and then go after Matt Cain for the #2/3 role? Everyone here seems to be clamoring for a blockbuster deal for Jake Peavy, but why not solidify more of the rotation by adding solid young guys to the ...

Apparently, with 35-40 mil to spend, the Braves will have 3 major pickups this offeseason with 2 of them being pitchers according to Bobby Cox. My question is who do you guy want? Also, lets throw CC out of these answers please. I say the 2 pitchers I would want is Burnett and Sheets(injury-discounted price) - combine to about 30 mil a yr The 1 hitter I would want would be Dunn, but since he ...

I know, I know, its the start of 100,000 different imaginary transactions by fans between now and February, but I gotta give a few. At least I'm not making up something overly ridiculous like trading for Scott Kazmir or something like that. Both Furcal and Burell are available in free agent market. Both would make our lineup 1,000 times better. With all the salaries coming off books this year,...

Would definitely take our best pitching prospect, so put Hanson in there. They'll need a guy to plug in for this coming year as well, so I'd say Jo Jo, since he's a Cal guy. Freeman is also from So-Cal. Adrian Gonzalez is under contract cheaply for 3 more years, but it's always good to have that next guy. I would think a shortstop to fill in after Greene leaves would be a priority, so put ...

The Teixeira for Kotchman/Marek trade is looking pretty bad from the Angels perspective. Kotchman is young and has plenty of upside. Marek will probably contribute in the Braves' pen soon. If the Angels get eliminated first round, especially if they are swept, Teix would have been worthless from an Angel perspective. Halos only got him to bolster their chances IN the playoffs, not to help ...

from mr. spinfford himself and one vick loving donte.. I guess Brett Myers isn't quite the stud you proclaim him to be....can't wait to see how he gets hammered in the playoffs.. - 7 ip, 2 hits, 2 runs. was it worth the wait? brett myers tastes like chicken.... - 7 ip, 2 hits, 2 runs. I was especially impressed how "on fire" Myers was last night, in a game the philthies needed very ...

I like this guy's game, I was a big fan of his last year, and he redeemed himself enough in the second half of this year to show that he's still one of the better hitting 2B around. I don't think he's a defensive liability, but he's mediocre at best, I would lean more toward a little bit below average. The reason I advocate trading him is simply because he has arguably the highest value of ...

Given all of the Peavy speculation going around, what are your thoughts on what it would take and how much you would be willing to give? My thoughts on what it would take: Heyward/Freeman Gorkys Hanson Locke Blanco/Anderson What I would be willing to give: Freeman Gorkys Rohrbough Acosta Blanco/Anderson I would make Heyward absolutely untouchable, and I would do whatever it takes to keep ...

1) Braves will sign Pat Burrell to a 3-yr $39 million deal unless they can pull off a trade for Holiday or Bay. I think Burrell's demeanor matches the type of player that the Braves have brought in over the years. Kind of a quiet, business-like attitude. I'd prefer someone a little more consistant, but I think the Braves are most likely to go this route. 2) Braves will sign Jon Garland to ...

Hey, was just thinking about a possible trade between the Cards and Braves. What are your thoughts on a Rick Ankiel for Kelly Johnson type of move? Seems like I've been reading you guys are interested in getting a bat with power in the outfield and the Cardinals need a middle infielder upgrade. Thoughts? Thanks.
