What a shame? So much potential ruined by injuries... When healthy, he was a solid two or three. Chacin was nothing more than a #5, maybe 4, at best. Some of his numbers in 2005 are quite deceiving, he had a pretty lucky year. Yes he had a 13-9 record with a 3.79 ERA, but he also had a WHIP of 1.39, much too high for the AL East. He is also a flyball pitcher, hitters had a slg% of .415 against him that year.... didn't AJ just...

It's easy to bash him now but THAT LUCKY SEASON just happened to be his rookie season... A lefty in his 20s with 13 wins and an ERA under 4 and he did that in the AL east no less. yup, he has a nice year or two. he spent 5 seasons at AA prior to that and was never considered much of a prospect. in 2004 he developed a cutter and started to give hitters trouble... and he had a good year in 2005. most evaluators thought he was pitching...

SP options

I think we should take a chance on Josh Fogg. Before you start to laugh hear me out. This guy was horrible last year. We will need some help until Mcgowan (spelling) gets healthy and we are not sure how long it will take for Casey Janssen to get back to form. We really only have to guys we can count on before spring training. I would like to have as many options as possible. with Fogg he was a 10 and 11 game winner 2 out of the...

Alright so saying that he was a solid 2 was stretching it a bit or a lot a bit - but look at this way, how nice would it have been to have a 13-game winner on last year's team with Halladay, Burnett and Litsch?

At the time, most thought he was only going to improve from there - and I was certainly one, who had high hopes for him. Oh well. And for the record, I only wish this current team had a #4 or #5 as good as he was then. Don't count...

too bad JP is still our GM, which essentially eliminates any possiblity of us making an intelligent move... The nose just isn't a good GM and this team will wallow in the middle of the pack until he's fired.

As much as I hate to say it the doc should be traded. After reading Cito statements, I agree next year is a right off and we are playing for 2010. The Jays can't sign any replacement pitchers and the offense is still horrid. JP should be canned and bring in a GM to rebuild this mess. The Doc is the only asset on this team that bring us any young talent ready for the majors via a trade, otherwise ...

For me I think that Travis Snider needs another half year at the least in AAA. If we were to decide to do that then I think we should go after Jonny Gomes. Last year was not a great year for him but he didn't get much playing time. the last 2 years before that he hit 20HR in 2007 and 21HR in 2006. In both those seasons he had less then 400AB and in 2007 he had less then 350AB. I'm not ...

I think we should take a chance on Bartolo Colon. OK before you say anything I know he has been injury prone the past few years. But lets look at last year. 7GS 4W-2L 3.92 ERA 27k 39 IP I don't think he will cost a lot and I like him as a possible starter over Clement and Maroth. If we get lucky we get Bartolo Colon of 4 years ago. 33GS 21W-8L 3.48 ERA 157k 222.2 IP What ...

The list is: 1) Chin Lung Hu (SS, Dodgers) 2) Jaquin Arias (SS, Rangers) 3) Kila Ka'aihue (1B, Royals) 4) Daniel Murphy (3B/OF, Mets) 5) Max Ramirez (C, Rangers) http://mvn.com/thesouthpaw/2008/12/30/shopping-on- a-budget.html I like the idea of either of the SS, but Murphy is also interesting. I'd give him a shot at 3B, but even if he can't handle it, I'd still do a trade. Especially if all...

If the Jays are looking at moving Halloday, Do you think the Brewers match up? What do you think a package would take? I would think anyone from Milwaukee is available except Yovani Gallardo and Ryan Braun.

To all my Blue Jays message board friends. I look forward to running another good fantasy baseball season this year and hope there will be lots of interest. Thought I'd mention this, I just bought a package that's available to season ticket holders. It's two round trip tickets to St. Petersburg, two tickets to the Jays-Tigers preseason game on Feb 27th and 2 tickets to a bbq with the Jays and...

don't be shocked if this time signs one more big name? Burrell, Abreu, or Bonds??? If they don't sign Pettite for 12 million this year, don't be shocked if Roger signs for about 14 million, he needs it for his legal battles. in other ridiculous news, due to the recession, the Yankees said today they are shutting down thier scouting department. they feel they have no other options to cut ...
