Has anyone heard the status of Hummel and/or Kramer for Sunday's game?

I just think that without a dominant force down low, Purdue will have a hard time making a run in the NCAA Tournament....

I think we should give up on the big ten title knowing we can still win it... the only thing we really need to do is block out everything else, focus 1 game at a time, this week it is wisconsin... the big ten title is not out of reach... its only 2 games... if purdue wins out, they would probably win the big ten... BUT, realistically, its probably not gonna happen, but i do see purdue winning atleast 12 big ten games... anywhere from 12-14.

OK, well when I said "lack of height" I was really referring to lack of rebounding. You are correct. I know we have some tall players on the team, but the rebounding is terrible. Thats what I was referring too. Not only the rebounding, but it seems not a single one of them can block anybody out and put up a layup or short jumper.

and hummel is overrated. pre-season big ten player of the year candidate no way. hes not even the best player on his own team. let alone raymar morgan for MSU, coble NW, Lighty OSU. this list keeps going. they play good D but hummel will get shut down in key games because he is one-dimensional.

Back spasms can occur for many reasons, but in a sport like basketball, the usual reason is that there was an injury to the spine (falling on it, bad posture, etc.) The body attempts to immobilize the spine with spasms so it can heal. Healing time depends on the severity of the injury. Rest, ice, and back strengthening exercises like pilates are the best treatment. It is not an injury he should attempt to play through.

This is a Sweet 16 team at best ... Their Defense will keep them in games, but they have zero structure on offense.

Purdue lost this game because they could not score consistently (hardly at all, actually) against Penn State's 2-3 zone defense in the second half. Calasan and Johnson were getting into the post against the 2-3 zone, but they weren't working hard enough to post up and get open. The even bigger problem for Purdue on offense against Penn State's 2-3 zone, IMO, is that THEY ...

I don't know much about back spasms: once someone has them, can they ever completely go away? Can someone ever fully heal from them? What can Rob do to best treat his back spasms?

Man. Isn't this a different start to the Big Ten season than some of you thought....Pretty funny to me. You guys have a tough upcoming schedule as well. Might be a REALLY rough start to Big Ten play. I'm excited!

I have always heard that it takes about a month for a sprained foot or ankle to totally heal from the time the injury occurs. And Kramer was still playing on it in the Illinois game (12-30). Does anyone know if he has been sitting out of practice since the Illinois game? If so, then it would probably take until about January 31st for it to be fully-healed. Does that sound ...

All of a sudden our win over Boston College looks a lot better. BC just beat UNC @ UNC. They are now 14-2 with one of their losses to us. Who knows, could be a difference between a 3 and 4 seed in the tournament.

We need a true big man BADLY...we have no one to kick it down to, get out rebounded, etc...when they go to the 2-3 zone, we sit on the outside and then throw one up. Until we get someone like that, I can't see us going far...

.....to have enough players moving without the ball and players moving with the ball to attack and shoot as well as a championship-caliber team? Here are the Boilers shooting stats so far this season, compared to the stats of other teams who had what it takes to win the national title: 2008-2009 Purdue: 44% FG shooting, 70% FT shooting, 33% 3PT shooting http://sports....

I am not going to write too much in this message. The Boilers did not defend the pick and roll well and Illinois did well scoring on the pick and roll. I am not sure why Kramer didn't play more minutes because he was good for most of the time that he was in the game, including getting a steal, starting a fast-break, and getting an assist to Grant (?). JaJuan "JJ" ...

Vol fan here, I am curious from other Purdue fans what all of your opinions are of Jim Chaney. His history says he was the Purdue Offensive Coordinator with Joe Tiller from 1998-2005 and coached some great offenses. Is Chaney a good hire for Tennessee at offensive coordinator?

THE PROBLEM: Teams that consistently run a pick-and-roll play are able to beat the Boilers. In 2006-2007, Ohio State consistently ran the pick-and-roll with Mike Conley, Jr. as the point guard most of the time. The pick-and-roll resulted in an Ohio State basket most of the time against the Boilers. (I know Ohio State won all three games against the Boilers that season ...
