Pioli to Chiefs?
Published (2009-01-08 11:20:00)
" \t610Sports in Kansas City reports that the Chiefs have offered Patriots VP of Player Personnel Scott Pioli their GM position. However, the sides have yet to agree on control. Owner Clark Hunt prefers tohire a money man to handle the finance side while Pioli keys onpersonnel, which Hunt presumably feels is his strong suit. If Pioliwants power over both responsibilities, he may just stay in NewEngland. Hunt also wants Pioli to keep Herm...

Agreed. EXCEPT, if J. Walker decided to retire which we all know isn't likely to happen. Why Al didn't let him do it last season still has me wondering. Anyone know where he hangs out and can Tanya Harding his as$? Just give him a free trip to Vegas!! LMAO! Classic.

Russell could only benefit from such a situation. If there's a guy who can mold him into a great qb, this is the guy.

Knapp gone, who's next? Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp is headedto Seattle to rejoin longtime pal Jim Mora Jr. This move was set inmotion when Mora was named the coach-in-waiting 12 months ago, sothere's no surprise here. With wide receivers James Lofton the only Raiderscoach known to be under contract next season, here's a handicap of someof the rest of the staff's options with contracts expiring Tuesday....

draft thoughts de dt and lb

Both d-line and o-line needs some work to be done but I think (and this is just my opinion) o-line should be addressed in day one of the draft followed by other areas that appear to becoming bigger factors (LB, WR possibly CB), then d-line, but I wonder how much of the d-line's ineffective play was a result of poor coaching as opposed to talent-level? How about: Jason Smith (Best fit if we keep ZBS) Max Unger (can play anywhere on...

Kinda what you said about Shanahan, Gruden, Norv Turner, Randy Moss, Collins, Jordan and about a thousand others. IT'S AMAZING how careers take off once coaches and players leave the NFL graveyard known as the Oakland Raiders.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling the defense he runs in Cleveland will be much different than what he ran in Oakland. I think Al had more to do with the overall scheme than they are willing to admit. I always found it hard to believe that Buddy Ryan's son, and a Belichek disciple, would run such vanilla schemes. In Cleveland he'll be able to do more of what he wants to do. Then again, Al let him try to install a...

Although the philosophy is not always considered sound, the Raiders will generally draft best available on their board (or best available in Al's mind). Whether they do with our first round pick this year or not remains to be seen. One thing to keep in consideration, if you are going to draft by need, you must make sure that the pick you are taking is worth taking with that pick. You don't want to take a player with the 7th...

"ESPN's Ed Werder confirms that impending free agent NT Tank Johnson will not be retained by the Cowboys this offseason. Thiswas reported two days ago in the Dallas Morning News. Tank kept hisnose clean with Dallas and likely has a better chance of finding a teamin 2009 than Adam Jones. Johnson could help a team running a 4-3defense. " Should come cheap and is definitely worth a shot bringing ...

look the sad fact is we are stuck with walker for prob at least 2 more yrs the cap hit is just too big to take to release him. im not saying it wont happen im just saying i dont see it. so here is the problem. you have walker, curry, higgins, schilens, shields, and holland. hollandis becoming a very good st player so he will prob be kept. now lets say curry is released. ok thats room for ...

One name to keep in mind _ Jeff Jagodzinski. Jagodzinski was hopeful being interviewed in Seattle to be offensive coordinator after being fired at Boston College for interviewing for the head coaching job with the New York Jets. That opportunity evaporated when Mora, as expected, hired Knapp, with whom he worked in San Francisco and Atlanta . The offensive ...

Tom Cable should be retained as head coach of the Oakland Raiders. -While Davis will probably never be considered one of the brighter football minds of today's football anymore, if he ever wants to be taken seriously again he needs to show some loyalty to some of the people underneath him. Cable isn't the flashy choice, but he's a fairly safe choice. There's no way we bring in a head coach ...

I very much hope that Al Davis does not hire a HC before he hires a GM. This organization needs to be re-established from the Top - down. That way you get your top brass to buy in, to help turn the tide and get their opinion on the goals, strategies and personnel to be put in place. Not just Al Davis hiring a 26 year old HC from Farmtown USA. First move is for Al Davis to make John Madden a...

the 2009 season will determine if Russel is to fufill his team expectations. Up to now he is averaging 161 yds passing a game with many of those yards as Prevent D gimmie passes. His third down conversion ratio is the worst among starting QBs in the NFL. Even in the last game when Bush put up 177yds rushing he still had only 148yds passing. Last year argument for poor passing by the Raiders ...

Im wondering what others think about this. so far they both had 1 great game this year when given 20 somthing carrys in a game. I know Mcfadden has been hurt all year but one thing i really dont like about the guy is how easy he is tackled. he goes down on first contact every time. Bush breaks tackles and that is somthing we havnt had in how long. also showing when he gets to the 2nd tier ...

Veteran newcomers Vilma, Gay and McCray were all productive, as were rookies Porter and defensive tackle Sedrick Ellis, the team's first-...
