I can't believe some of these guys.....anyway I need to start filtering out all of the crybabies and just post to those who are actually discussing something real.....I'm starting to whine myself and I don't want to be exactly the same in reverse. So, Hi Metsfan, hi Phlav..... Everyone has varying opinions and theories as to how a team should be put together. As well as what the Mets are planning to do or no do this...

nady

what's with all the love for nady? i always thought he was overrated. he's slightly above average. i'd rather have another lefty in the lineup (abreu) than a righty who isn't as good. besides, mets and yanks are never doing direct business. ain't happening. Nady's not the greatest thing since sliced white bread, you're right when you say he is slightly above-average. What I don't understand is...

I've said this before and it's somewhat unpopular but, Luis Castillo is a lifetime 300 hitter......has been injured. Who knows if he can rebound?? I hope so, I'm not a doctor. If Phlav is right we won't have to worry about it because Orlando Hudson will be starting for us in April. Delgado had two surgeries after the 2007 season......after never being injured before in his career. I don't see trouble there. Schneider...

BRAVES WILL GET LOWE
Published (2009-01-08 21:33:00)
All this diiiikking around will cost Omar. Now that Smoltz is wearing a Red Sox jersey, the Braves NEED a top starter and I betcha they offer more money and 4 yrs to Lowe. They are not allergic to signing older pitchers (Smoltz, Glavine, Hampton). And Lowe has been just as consistent as any of them.............more so in fact. So, if this happens, Omar will have to choose from the B & C piles....which suits Fredie and lil Jeffie...

Freddy and jeff coupon better not f this up, if he goes to atlanta we will be battling the marlins for third place. Thats quite possible.

Remaining Free Agents:

i second and third hinske i think he would be a great fit and fill multiple spots but also other teams are thinking the same thing. i think in the end Lowe will probably be a met. Cause Boras wants perez signed too so it is in his best interest to play kinda nice with the Mets like he did with ARod last year. Rocco though may never be a starter but he can be a productive reserve. and the best combos i think we can get are lowe and wolf perez...

Freddy and jeff coupon better not f this up, if he goes to atlanta we will be battling the marlins for third place. this division is very balanced. it's not like the phils are 100X better than anyone. people act like the phils are awesome b/c they won the WS. they are a good team, as are the mets and marlins. we have to remember they won the divison by 3 games against us and the marlins were, what, 5 games behind. the braves are...

You can't be that lucky 3 consecutive years to have your best competition in the division stumble at the end. Im sorry to say but despite what you think about the marlins, last year they put up quite a fight for almost the entire year...before august...so while I do agree the Mets are better never count out the Marlins like I'm sure you (and most) always do

Minaya knows hes gotta get one lefty and one righty...he cant get 2 righties (lowe and redding) and have Santana as the only lefty in the rotation...especially against a lefty dominant team in philly... Minaya will sign either Lowe and Wolf or Perez and Redding My guess is Lowe and Wolf But I still remain the only person on these boards that thinks its very possible that we can land Lowe AND ...

Giants were never in it because they couldn't afford him, i guess Only reason why Giants are in it maybe he will take less. That being said, why is Mets not involved?

Now it's becoming clear that he may fall into our lap. The Giants are no longer in the running, and the Dodgers seem to have shifted focus to spending money on their pen rather than Manny. Who else is out there? Us. I feel like after all this Manny backlash in the media and amongst fans, the last thing he would want to do is reinforce his stereotype and continue to whine and refuse to play if he ...

I am only listing people who could help the Mets in any way. Catchers Jason Varitek (37) - Type A, offered arb ( Tek is a "leader" but being a Type A I think he isn't worth it, and he's certainly not worth a lot of money. If the Mets have already lost their 1st pick for K-Rod would we give up the one we might get for Perez if we signed another Type A? ) First basemen ( Neither guy ...

This team is going to have Maybin, hanley, uggla, and Cantu. We lose the rather overrated Mike Jacobs (.299 OBP is just horrible) and while I may miss Josh Willingham , he just wasnt the same after his injury Scott Olsen = no were near our best pitcher, in fact next year he would have been possibly our 4th or 5th guy Josh Johnson , Ricky Nolasco , Chris Volstad , Andrew Miller (had his...
