Smoltz to Red Sox

Signing Smoltz may help the Bosox but do you think it is enough? How much does he have left in the tank? Whats going on with Peavy? Really been quiet there hasn't it.

Andy Pettitte an Astro again?
Published (2009-01-08 18:56:00)
Well if this is indeed true then we need to make it happen right now before the Yankees enter back into the sweepstakes. Wade go ice fishing with Pettitte have a few bears and have him sign on the dotted line. What are you waiting for. Go real him in. lol

We can hold onto Nady until Brian Bogusevic is ready. Isn't Nady a FA in 2010? Yes he is.

I read on another site that teams were worried about Sheet's shoulder bot his elbow. It seems that shoulder problems are way worst than elbow problems.

If the Astros could work out a deal for one of them who would you want? My pick could be Nady. He has some pop in his bat and can play centerfield. Swisher has some pop too but his avg is just that avg. If we could maybe workout a deal that would include one of their starters, like Kennedy, that is behind and doesn't seem to have a spot in the rotation. Kennedy could be a good pitcher for ...

Ok clearly this trade idea is for mid-season and not right now since the Astros management somehow believes this team can and will contend (in fairness to them its hard to head towards rebuilding w/ Berkman, Lee and Oswalt under contract, though only Lee would be hard to trade for substantial value). So this is only should the Astros fall out of contention. Astros trade: Closer Jose Valverde ...

Everyone post on how many wins you think the Astros will win the year!! I will be generous and say they win 72 games. lol... which will be worse then the 2007 season of 73 wins. But if Hampton can stay healthy and both Owalt and Wandy can pitch us to 15+ wins a piece then 85 wins is doable. Looking back boy were the Astros teams from 1994-2005 really good. Only once did we finish worse then ...

Great News !!! Best news in 4 months. This almost assures Castro will be our starter in 2010 Jason Castro has earned high marks practically from the day the Astrosdrafted him as their No. 1 pick in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, and in less than six weeks, he'll begin the process of making a lastingimpression on the club's decision-makers. Castro, the 10th overall pick in '08, has been ...

Wow we signed John Gall to a minor league contract yesterday along with 4 others including Abercrombie and Saccomanno . Wade working the phones. Lets all here it for Ed Wade. Your doing a hell of a job. But in all serious. Gall was the one one that intrigues me. I know he's 30 and is no more then a bench player at best. But he does keep the ball in play and doesn't strikeout all that much. He's...

I know things are looking poorly right now, but honestly this excessive sarcasim and negativity is really beginning to get me down and depressed. With every new season i always try and be as optimistic and excited as possible because this is baseball and i love this sport, and thou the Astros are not looking so good right now I am ready to root for them win or lose. Anything can happen. I am ...

From my perspective, The Astro's have done NOTHING to improve their team... If anything, they have only gotten worse... With the loss of Wiggy and Wolf. Please tell me there is something in the works here.... Please tell me, that the Stro's aren't resigning themselves to yet another year of mediocrity.... At least last year they tried a few things.... Sure Tejada and Bourn were pretty ...

Hey, any chance we can trade for Melky Cabrera. Would the Yankees want anyone from our team. Cabrera wont get much playing time with the signing of Swisher and still only 24 has some upside and can platoon with Bourn. If Bourne should falter Cabrera could step right in. This kid needs to start somehwere and the Yankees are looking to deal him. This way we can have Erstad fill in and give off ...

This board is the best in all of BB. That Old Fart Cobb gets a little nasty on occasion, but we have learned to expect that of him. If we had to fight another World War would anyone here want anybody other than NRE, OX and OT backing up our trench? I don't think so. And with Bags being our PR man we would never have to worry about the busy boddies in DC. Add 420 for entertainment ...

Bradley is due in Chicago this week for a physical examination asone of the final hurdles to finalizing the deal. The contract isexpected to be formalized later this week, possibly as ...
