You should post this over on the NHL General board. Those East coasters love hearing this stuff. East is Least..... West is Best..... haha it is done. ; ) the hay is lit, now we're just waiting on the barn to ignite.

Here's some tidbits from the article from the Freep website about Maltby's and Draper's digs at the Swedes as a result of the gold medal game in the WJC final. It was a fun experience for the Wings players, especially so for Canadians like Kirk Maltby, who ribbed Swedes ranging from Johan Franzen to Niklas Kronwall to Henrik Zetterberg -- but not captain Nicklas Lidstrom. "Somebody like Nick, you may say something like,...

East: 58-62-16 West: 78-43-15 if it wasnt for the blues losing 8 games to the east that would look even worse. nobody else in the west has more than 4 regulation losses against the LEast. besides the blues and the ducks (4-4-1) the rest of the west has a winning record vs the LEast. the only team in the east thats dominating the west are the bruins at 7-3.

surprise surprise...... not that its news. we all know how difficult its going to be to keep the chunk of guys they have now. anybody they would trade for would be a wasted rental. its not worth losing those high picks, especially since they will need to draft some more hidden gems after losing a good player or two this summer. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2009/01/lu nch_with_...

Due to the recent greed of the Detroit Redwings, giving up only 17 goals in the last 9 games, there are now only 8 teams whom have allowed less goals than us. I believe the sharks game got us playing better and weve been dominate from there (even though our record has been GREAT all year long). Hopefully Osgood/Conlin turn into the best duo in the league from here on out and we ride to the ...

Why does it seem to me that it always "out of character" for this guy to say anything positive about plays that the Red Wings make, but everything about their opponents is always spectacular - out of a never seen book of historic events? His comments of what an awesome play that the Havlat goal was, but when Sammy scored, it was because of miscommunication between the d for the Hawks, was from ...

I just looked into the standings to notice that were only a couple of points ahead of the blackhawks. I didn't realize they were playing THIS good. It makes the Dec. 30 and New Years Day game BIg Big games for a middle of the season schedule. Then I looked at the end of the season and we finish the last 2 games with back to back with these guys and that could very well determine who wins the ...

Just as with our dependency on foreign oil, we have to break our dependency on Lidstrom to win games.

I was re-watching my Red Wings Stanley Cup DVD whilst lifting last night and Ken Daniels mentioned the Wings starting record for last year... 8 regulation losses at the New Year. This year's team has 7 regulation losses.
