Random Thoughts

1. ESPN has dubbed this game the "BCS Buster Bowl." I wonder if that would be a good name for an actual bowl at some point? Ok, back on topic. Since BSU's mascott is, Buster! What ways could we sell some shirts with this label? I havn't had any marketing classes...yet, so possibly you guys could think of something. The best I could come up with was: A shirt with Buster pointing to himself (with thumbs, or hooves?, what...

I understand the argument. Especially from TCU's side. But a Boycott is definitely not the way to go. Both teams need to show up and put on a show.

Current Line TCU over Boise...

Berkeley,I'm not betting the game. If I was, I would search for the "best deal." However, my point was that 7 or 7.5 means the same thing. The betting public thinks this is about a 1 touchdown game for TCU. And I find myself agreeing with that. That said, it doesn't mean I wish Boise bad luck or don't think they can win. Just that the most likely scenario is probably about that much.

IMNSHO (not so humble) we will be more than fine against TCU. We match up and we measure up. Kellen WAS a freshman in his first bowl game at the Poinsettia. At times he looked like a deer in the headlights... Won't be the same this year. This kid has fun and NO ONE intimidates him. TCU a defensive jugernaut? They're good but they ain't perfect. Our defense against Oregon (read my Oregon poem under...

Would it hurt the chances of the MWC getting into the BCS if they let BSU in??? I can see it going both ways...

Typical lose lose situation for both teams... Winner beats a nobody. Loser is just that, a loser... Dis agree....its huge for BSU...if they win they could very well end up #2 In the nation which guarentees a top five start next year, and with all the starters coming back we shouldnt really ever see anything less than a top 6...which most likely will end us up in another bowl, this and not to forget the implications it has on the...

I honestly believe that we can win. Why not? What makes us so much inferior to TCU? Our offense is explosive, and can move down the field against ANY DEFENSE. We did last year agaisnt TCU, but just didnt punch them in. So, with an even more improved offense, why couldnt we this year? TCU's offense is better this year, but our defense isnt exactly slouches. As a BYU fan said earlier to me today , "I dont think TCU can...

Can one stutter when writing? One last time: If the Owls lose - I will be silent about Kellen Moore. This is my oath, my word. Bo P p p pretty hard t to st st stutter w when writing Bo. Though I wouldn't want to be one to dilute this most sensational thread, once again I have a burning question: What happened to the issuance of the Mea Culpa on this matter? <HTM>

BSU replacement in the WAC
Published (2009-12-09 14:43:00)
Portland State.....because the WAC needs a team that the Vandals can find a use for their quick thinking ALUM, to make up shirts and signs saying "Portland is NOT a STATE!"-That's clever, eh? My age may show in this question, but did they do that to Boise way back when? They have been doing it for YEARS now. My point EXACTLY is that they can't come up with anything better? All those "so called" genius...

The model you see is the 55,000 seat option, I believe. Eliminate the track, drop the field to get 10,000 more intimate seats then complete the Horsehorse shoe for another 15,000 seats. It will have to be an incremental process IMO. Especially in this economy. I vote the first move should be to add the 10,000 intimate seats (a la Autzen) and get rid of that damn track.

Pete is NOT ok with our facilities. He's made that clear from day 1. His priorities are: 1. Assistants pay 2. growth in facilities, and then everything else.

This game does little for the college football fan that wants to see Non auto qualifiers match up against the big boys, but it does make for a good stepping stone for a run at a national championship next year. The winner of this game will start next season ranked in the top 10 (speculation but very likely). If either TCU or BSU run the tables again next year with a top 10 preseason ranking, ...

The WAC and MWC has been relatively even for a while. Then the MWC started to seperate itself around '05, and has increased that gap in '08. The fact is, the MWC has 3 really good/great teams to the WAC's 1. Then they both have about 2-3 good teams on any given year. And, generally, the rest are bottom-feeders. So, until this changes, the MWC will always be given the edge against BSU (the WAC's ...

What do you guys think of all the Big Conference teams and fans always blaming the blue turf for us not moving up in conferences or playing anyone? They think that because we have that blue blue combination that it provides an advantage. Really they are all just terrified to lose to "The Potato School" who destroys seasons every year. This year is a perfect example as Oregon was like #14 and ...

Berk is right. If we don't have a huge fan turnout, it will just give the BCS more ammo about mid-majors. Let's do the right thing and support our teams. This is the second-highest rated game by ESPN. I am stoked! Go Broncos!

That is a good read...Quite a break down of what will be the best BCS game....As a Duck fan, I'm going to the Rose Bowl, but I think the TCU-BSU game will be the best out of all the 2010 BCS match-ups... As for the money situation...Another example of how the BCS keeps holding the man down! And it won't end anytime soon...

good post. I agree I think from the experience BSU had last year against TCU, this year they will use someone to spy the TCU QB. I am pretty sure that the BSU line can handle the TCU D line. There may be some situations that a RB will be needed for chip blocks, but not many. Again.. good post......... Do you think now that Moore has another year under his belt he will be more ...

Goto www.Bleacher report.com if you want to write an article next time. Better yet, go ANYWHERE else but here. I'm getting a little sick of the trolling on this board. People writng things just to basically "hear themselves talk" (so to speak) Are you SO sad and lonely that you have to come here to spill out your "so-called" knowledge? Give me a break? Your GARBAGE is not needed here.

Honestly, I see Boise getting ravaged ... TCU is good. Real good. We do poor against QB's that can run...the only weakness of Kellen Moore. Dalton can run and throw... TCU defense is crushing as well... It really is a good matchup, just gains the non-AQs nada.

Remmber how entertaining that game was last year? BSU led for 3.5 quarters, then TCU takes the lead late. Brotzman misses a field goal to win, Moore threw a costly pick.. They were evenly matched last year. BSUS biggest weakness against TCU was the O line, at least our o line is a little better this year.

I said that too. It also just adds to the "gimmicky" reputation that many Boise fans don't like that it's been attached to Boise. While there are many on here that defend going for 2 all the time, I'm betting in the future that we see a lot less of it.
