Ummm Mario Fannin was a better recruit than Scott is. Sorry but Fannin ran for 1200 yds and 12 tds, threw for 1000 yds and 20 tds. Not to mention he did that as a Jr.     Which is still less than Burton's numbers.

Not to mention Saban is hated in the NFL because of the way he handle leaving. They still talk about that. I dont know who is worse Saban or Petrino.

Overall the talent in the USFL was less than that in the NFL. Plus, Herschel was washed up when he came to the NFL.

I don't know that much about him and I don't think it matters that much.  Chizik will probably be like Tuberville, in the fact that, he'll have his hands all over the defense.

The Dallas Cowboys should put Hershel in the Ring of Fame in Texas Stadium thanks to that trade. While he was avging 3 ypc in Minnesota, Dallas took all those picks they got and drafted Emmitt Smith, Russell Maryland, Darrin Woodson and built the team of the '90s..... Thanks Hershel!!!!

As a Sr. Scott had the same amt. of yds as Fannin did his Jr. year but only 25 tds. How is that better? We've seen what Mario can do on the field(college field that is) but i don't know anything about Scott. Fact not fiction

As of this morning, Auburn was not listed on RR's Rivals recruiting page list of schools. As of this afternoon, Auburn is listed with a "Medium Interest" (just like Bama) and a visit scheduled for 1/9/09. Looks like our new staff has made some impressive progress in a very short period.

I doubt it happens. He has a better shot at probably going pro from Auburn being a top 10 pick over bama especially.

Shoals, what about Tyric Rollison? If we get him then.....we would have a QB with exp throwing to him like AJ. I think this is a huge step in the right direction for the future.

He was the best athlete the SEC has ever seen before our since. MLB allstar and MVP (all star game) and NFL All Pro. there is no disputing that. I will take him over Hershel any day and any footbal game. I saw them both play, and everyone on the field knew Hershel was getting the ball and couldn't stop him.  Auburn had other options that had to be stopped. Hershel was just flat out better.  Better in college, better in the pros. ...

If your a auburn fan this is great news. he is one of the top recruiters in the nation and a pretty darn good coach. It's amazing(maybe I'm being overly optimistic) but recruiting is the only thing I'm really worried about with the recent AU coaching hires.If CGC can make some steals in that area...watch out!

Holy crap. Just disgusting for the SEC. I though Ohio St and OK were the only teams that wore red and laid eggs in BCS games. At least  AL waited longer than last year before deciding to go into their late season tank.

My top 5 recruits we must sign goes as..... We have a good shot at 1) Patrick Patterson - Hopefully CGM gets after this guy. We need a big body that can get jump balls, block, and make big plays down field. Tim Hawthorn is that current man, but he's been quite a disappointment. 2) Rodney Scott - If CGM sells to this guy we won't be in the spread and we will be playing smashmouth AU football...

Powers is decent, but I don't even think he will be drafted any opinions? Can't tell you how many times I've seen Powers just have to put his hands up or turn around for the ball to break up a play and he couldn't. (Think LSU game last year) Anyways CFL bound Powers maybe? Who knows maybe some team will take a chance on him.
