I ike the idea of mushroom people. Truthfuly though, it's been a while since the last time I looked at a myconid entry in any MM for any edition. I'm not sure why, but the idea of a mushroom samuari just seems cool.

Kobolds as PCs...Why?!

Various reasons: -They have memorable and fun characters, such as Deekin and Meepo. -They are the underdog who manages to win -They have humorous personalities and mannerisms -They have especially from the video-games created a very concrete image for themselves, even down to a "voice" (I am willing to bet most people if they tried to talk like a Kobold would try to do something similar) -Their cute

Fist of Mourning?

Interestingly, though, if you add up the XP you get for the side adventure, it comes out to roughly 5800 XP for each of 5 PCs. That's enough to go from the bottom of 10 to 11, so it's more of a full level of adventure. Though, I don't know how many of the individual encounters are optional or the PCs not likely to experience. As for why I am running it? I have found some interesting things that I may want to expand, but more...

With all the discussions, comparisons, and wars over the years between the new D&D system(s) and the old D&D system(s), theres one discussion, comparison, and war that I dont remember ever seeing. Which do you think was the better D&D game system: Basic D&D or Advanced D&D? Why? They were both in print/publication and play at the same time (which is unique among the numerous editions ...

Well I have seen various posts that often talk about things 3.5 doesn't support. Some of these posts are correct... but I have seen just as many that are not correct and decided to create a thread where misconceptions about 3.5 can be dispelled. This isn't a thread about houserules, but about the wide berth of options 3.5 gives and how some people may discover what they are looking for if they...

This question was inspired by this thread: Why did you quit playing 4e I think their needs to be some positive things to counter all the anti- 4e sediment out there. I'm also going to starting running a 4e campaign come Sunday. I've only run a couple one-offs with 4e , so I'm definitely interesting in knowing the positives of 4e --especially after reading the negatives (combat ...

So Someone in my group recently bought some burst/blast templates... They're basically hollow squares made out of some sort of rigid plasticy material. When I first saw them I kind of smirked and though ummm how hard is it to see a square on the battlemat? But then that night involved a fight with a goblin Hexer... he has that power to create a burst 3 that lasts as long as he spends...

I've been wanting to generate weather that makes sense over a long period of time, so I don't get the "it's hot! now it's cold! now there's a tornado!" sort of weather most generators seem to supply. I'm thinking one that supplies temperature, precipitation, cloud cover and wind conditions over a period of 12 30-day months, with seasonal and climate variations. Does anyone have a link to a ...

My day job is all about helping people make major changes to their work habits. I see the same types of reactions there that I'm seeing on this forum in regards to 4e , so I thought you might like to hear some of the things that I've learned about change. 6 months ago, I put up a poll here on ENWorld, calling it the Changeover Poll. That poll was about whether people changed over to 4E , stayed with 3E , or went somewhere in-between in their gaming. This poll asks the same question, but now more time has passed since the advent of 4E . So this is the Changeover Poll Redux, as it were. This poll is exactly the same as the old poll, ...

ENworlder: How long have you been gaming? Pretty much what it says in the title. My apologies if this has been asked before. I'd assuming "off and on" is still "years gaming," because – frankly – once you're jumped into the clique, you're down for life, but feel free to use your own judgement. __________________ ENworld OAF (Old-school Admirer of 4th edition)...

Usual "don't turn this into an edition war" caveat. One of the more common complaints that I've noticed about 4e is that the PCs end up using the same powers over and over again. What I'm curious to know is, how did you avoid spamming attacks in 3e combat, especially if you were not a spellcaster of some sort? I know that theoretically , you could bull rush, disarm, trip, fight ...

Well, here it is the second last of our Primal classes for PHB2. The Warden: D&D Warden, Levels 1-3 Wow, those Forms are pretty neat. I didn't expect, wasn't really hoping (though wasn't hoping against) shapechanging. But the fact they went with partial-shapechanging is awesome, I always liked partial shapeshifting.

I've noticed a lot of polls here on EN World, along with a lot of interest in said polls. As part of WotC R&D's research into games, I'd like to get a feel for whether this is simply a blip on the radar or true trend in gamer interest. Thanks!

This is dangerous ground and I hope it doesn't devolve into an edition war. Please keep the griping to a minimum. 3e and 4e are different systems, aimed at different play styles. As games, neither is inherently "better" than the other, just more "appropriate" to your style. Please approach the discussion with that assumption. I just ended my 3.5 campaign and we're trying to decide ...
