Tom Moldvay did a series of fantastic articles in Dragon Magazine providing variant undead. This thread will focus on these monsters.

This thread continues the idea of “cooperative conversions”, converting a series of monsters from similar sources. For this thread, we will be focusing on monsters that first appeared in the assorted campaign settings not covered by other threads, such as Jakandor, Birthright, Ravenloft, etc. What I will do is first post the creature’s original stats and flavor text. Then, I will post a ...

It's about time we started a thread for the remaining Realms creatures.

OK, finally found some time to look at this here feller. the creature is not overly complex, and fairly straightforward. For the most part, we can just keep Shade's work. I don't know how long ago the conversion was done, but in my experience the older the conversion is, the more work will likely have to be done to get it right. A few things I would draw attention to: Creatures that had a ...

Hmm, isn't the Gadabout now a magic item in one of the Dragon Magazines? I'd have to double check, but I think it got a convert as a Magic item

This thread is a special version of the "cooperative conversions" in numerous threads, converting a series of monsters from similar sources. For this thread, we will be focusing on true dragons (dragons with age categories) that have appeared in various D&D sources throughout the years. What I will do is first post the creature's original stats and flavor text. Then, I will post a basic ...

By request, this special conversion thread will attempt to finish off the remaining oozes. Here are the remaining creatures Echohawk has identified as being possible oozes: Aruchai; Dragon #47 Black Slime; Dragon #250 Carnivorous Wall; Crypt of Lyzandred the Mad Goop Ghoul; Dragon #198 Imorph; Fiend Folio (1st Edition) Living Muck; Eye of the Beholder III: Assault on Myth Drannor PC ...

Sorry to dig at an older thread, but it interests me a great deal. I hate winging it with the elven cat all the time, but we do what we must. I was suprised to see the entry on the elven horse/Yyllethyn from an issue of Dragon, as I'm more familiar with the elven moon horse known as the Teu'kelytha from Monsterous Compendium Annual Volume Two. Climate/Terrain: Plains, medows (elven lands) ...

First things first: still a giant or an aberration? I think I might lean toward the latter, but they're not so weird that giant wouldn't work, also.

Let's give him an extradimensional space. Maybe he's hooked up to whatever uses bags of devouring as mouths. Borrowing from the iron golem sounds good.

Club and Intimidate bonus sound about right. Stamp (Su): When a debbi stamps its feet in a special rhythm, it calls upon a primitive magical energy. All creatures within a 60-foot spread must succeed on a DC X Will save or become panicked for 2d4 rounds. This is a sonic mind-affecting fear effect. Whether or not the save is successful, an affected creature is immune to the same debbi's ...
