On a lighter note... I traded four RPG books at my FLUGS to get Alien Compendium 2 (for Alternity), d20 Future Tech, and Entombed with the Pharaohs. I had to pay part of the difference in trade but it was a good deal, IMO .

I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I figured it was worth a shot. I've noticed lately that I am getting weaker in my lower back (a combination of age and not really ever taking good care of my body). Between working and taking care of my mom I don't really have time to do a full work out kind of thing. Is there an exercise I could do to build strength in my lower back that I ...

Beware of any site that offers equipment well below the suggested price. Often it is gray market equipment which is sold outside the US and does not carry a warranty. Other stories I have heard include equipment not being as advertised. An example of this would be a lens for a Canon camera being advertised and when it arrives, it is a knock off brand of poor quality. I have purchased ...

Nice news We refinanced our mortgage at 5% interest, fixed, lowering our monthly payment by $200. On another note, Senator McCain has started a congressional investigation into my wife's VA case, but that can take up to 18 months. Still, hopefully this means things will be fixed within 18 months, something that has been going on for 3 years 6 months now. So that is promising ...

Jan. 6, 2009 -- It's a classic image from every youngster's science textbook: a cutaway image of Earth's interior. The brown crust is paper-thin; the warm mantle orange, the seething liquid of the outer core yellow, and at the center the core, a ball of solid, red-hot iron. Now a new theory aims to rewrite it all by proposing the seemingly impossible: Earth has not one but two inner cores....

Most of these aren't really 'new' bands but I thought they'd be stuff that any fan of fantasy and RPGs might enjoy. There's a brief explanation of the band and their style as well. Tool- if you haven't heard of them you're probably living under a rock or in the depths of the Underdark. Suitably mysterious and heavy with ambiguously mystical sounding lyrics. Dream Theater- virtuostic ...

New Year's Eve plans So, my boyfriend's and my plans for New Year's Eve have been ruined by snow. We were going to head over to Cape Cod and spend the night with friends, but it's snowing like hell here and I couldn't get my little car out of town - I was just sliding down hills and spinning my tires trying to get back up them. I knew it was going to be worse the closer I got to ...
