None of the QH shows have english trail classes, they are all western. And there are a few over fences (area 3 shows seem to have the most over fences horses)

I dont think we'll be ready for area 2 this year. Gonna use the novice show to test the waters. Of course, everything depends on if we can find a way there.

www.carouselpainthorses.com This is out of your area but is worth the drive. Randy has years of experience and you don't have to worry about your horse being roughly handled as sometimes happens with some horse trainers.

I understand where the original poster is coming from. I never knew it was so hard to find a nice, clean, caring place to board my horses close to home. (milton too)

hummmm ya I dont know - I pay close to 600/month board and you would think for that price you would find some decent facilities. I find it rather disturbing that if you want "quality" you need to pay around 1k and upward... something is wrong with that ...

I have my 2 western horses at a Trillium Hunter/Jumper barn. Wonderful care couldnt ask for better. I have not found one western barn other then pleasure places that get boarder, most are someone own personal barn.

Hi there, I think the thing about selling used saddles is that certain people are looking for certain things. Whether it's a specific seat size, tree width, style or a combination of things.. sometimes used saddles are just hard to sell. There are definitely other places you can advertise the saddle apart from the EMG board (but that's a good place to start). There are lots of other horse ...

I would suggest working with a hackamore gag bit, but drop it about half to 1" down (see no wrinkles) in the horses mouth. This works on many of the horses I have tried it on. You should really work on getting him to listen to the bit rather than just trying a new bit. If it only happens at shows it may be worth it to take him to a few and just walk or trot the barrels/pole stopping at every ...

I do dressage not western so I can't really help, but I just wanted to tell you, I know how you feel! Dressage isn't nearly as popular here as H/J disciplines and when you CAN find a nice dressage facility (that's not 2 hours away!), you have to pay $2000 a month for training board! ARGH!
