I am not sure how I feel about this, but I think the point raised (I think by Nanjo) about the risk of a horse FURTHER injurying themselves when given bute and then competed is a valid concern and something that should be taken into consideration when evaluating this new rule. Don't get me wrong a lot of points on the 'for' side have also been made. And I know the argument could be made that though the RISK is there, the rider...

Endurance is a little different than eventing. You are going for hours... you horse BETTER be fit, going that long and not being fit would definately not be nice. Now I'm Not saying eventers are not fit, they need to be just as fit, the difference is they are out on a course that doesn't take lets say 12 hours to do. Like being said a million times, it's not enough to cover lameness... so why such a big stir? Most eventers pull...

Glad to read he is outta there. I look forward to new directors taking the THS over and getting it back to running in a way that is acceptable to the welfare of the animals going through there. Too bad it took so long. RIP to all the poor animals that went through really tough times in there.

Texas, for the record, I asked the question of Julie, she answered and gave me permission to use her message on this thread. The communicator has no reason to come here, so please don't hold it against her that she is not responding. She is probably not even aware of the furor her comment has caused.

"Love" is not the word I would use. Horrified maybe. So far I've seen: - a break-up because someone spent their boyfriend's money on the farm without asking. - publicly making another barn look bad - general incompetence handling a horse (stallion turned out across from mares in heat, horses led very late etc). - jumping without a helmet right in the intro I know and understand that these ...

Dragging the nice people who bring him in/out. Figuring out how to open his stall door, going on rampages during the night until we figured out that someone did NOT forget to close his stall properly. After putting an extra clip on the stall door so he can't open it he figures out how to open his "window" and decides it's fun to push the locker over that was in front of his stall. Barn staff ...

I'm a tall person, and i have an Exselle which i find just awesome. the flaps go down further than a lot of saddles, and it fits my horse perfectly. Now, he's a TB so im sure he would have a shorter back than your QH. But, i think, all exselles are wool stuffed so it easy to get adjustments if it isnt a perfect fit. you might have to buy used if you want it relatively inexpensive, but i would ...

Animal communicator, ask her to communicate with the calf she shows in the photo section of her website. Wonder what it has to say about being chased, roped and thrown to the ground, or what it feels like to have a 200lb man land on your back and throw you violentley to the ground, or are calfs not animals and have no feelings.

I have never had to blanket a QH. All mine went out nekkid year round and
were just fine, not even that fuzzy. o_O. I found that to be one of the
advantages of having a QH... buuuut. If I did have to blanket one, I'd
probably go with the tried and true Rambos, or an Amigo or Bucas. They all
have larger necks that don't rub so much, and all the WB's I know (larger
build than TBs, obviously) wear ...

Last year I sent a horse out on lease who was half clipped. Clippers went dull after finishing half of him. Oops. Bloody blades were brand new. They were picking him up the next day, so... he left looking like a moth eaten rug. Thank god they thought it was hilarious and it was a spring clip so it wasn't TOO horrendous. I lie. Yes it was.
