i can confirm no, definitely not. it won't ask you, but it also won't delete your profile which is in the my documents folder on the hd. it will still be there if you reinstall and when you start up the game again, no backing up needed.

Ignore what I've just wrote... it's been confirmed in the General Discussion section that the v1.02 patched executable should be 1.0.2.0. If it isn't then the game has not been patched.

Ok I fixed my problem! What I did was download the patch from a different site... http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/Need-for-Speed-SHIFT-Patch.shtml ...whereas before I had downloaded it from the needforspeed.com website. I also saved the patch in the Shift folder whereas before I just put it in Program Files (x86). For some reason there was no error message and when I clicked 'run' it worked like it should. Yeah a few other SLI users are still experiencing stuttering, reduced all be it. The main issue for nvidia users was in fact the stuttering. I had a feeling, because of the overwhelming amount of ATI users with poor performance, that this patch would concerntrate on that and leave the significantly less nvidia users with issues out in the cold.
