WOHOO!! got my second 260 (found a new core 216 on ebay!!) sli is awesome, system gets 22,503 on 3dmark 06 and i can play crysis on 1400x1050-very high(all)-4xAA with about 40fps average- 75 max- 29 minimum!!!!!!!! it's awesome and i get 8000 on fluidmark (its not exactly 8000 it's more but i cant remeber the exact number)

installed the nvidia 191.xx (as the 192 apparently puts in a perma fix that prevents the mod from working at all) along with a 5770 BEFORE the 9600GT i've got.. scored over 4500 in fluidmark...

do you have a twin LCD setup?? if yes it should be eastish providing you have the requirements of a PSU that supports the use of more than one card. Usually 750W is a good number... anyway, you also need Windows 7 64bit... If you are swure then that you have the required hardware then setup is pretty easy... those are EXTREMELY high temps for an 8800GTX man..... im afraid that the card may just be permanently fried 100C on the card is far too high..... boiling temperature... safe maximum is usually around the 80C range with idle being from 40-60C the restarting issue may also point to a PSU failure unless its a BSOD which could just be a hardware issue due to the fried card

If this article is true that will be good achievement , however it isn't expected to achieve these specs right now. I don't think it will be like 2X 5870 , that's overestimate . And another thing about the price ,nVidia really don't show competitive prices since ages so this one is going to have a ridiculous price as usual.

it really depends on what your friend plays... the 4850x2 is a great deal faster than the GTX260 and you wont feel any improvement from the 9400GT unless the game is a PhysX game id go with the 4850X2 but thats me
