Have you ensured that the new computer is a member of your domain? You might want to start with some basics like whether you can ping the IP address (not the DNS name) of the Exchange server and the firewall settings on the PC.

Outlook not connecting in 2003...
Published (2009-11-15 12:10:00)
I am new to Exchange Server 2003 and I have a friend with a network server that I don't know how to re-establish a user to the network. I moved one of his non used computers to this station and now when I try to log in the user I get the error that the name can't be verified because Outlook is not connected or online. This computer used to be online with a different user. Can anyone tell me the steps to check this? Thanks.

hi and welcome to DH. Try downloading this: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-...0303091523. zip The driver is from Toshiba's support site, but it's for your chipset and sound card, unless it refuses to install, it should do the trick.

Is his system with XP or Vista? If XP there are other ways without special software. OK, nvm, I just read it properly lol. I will PM you with a way to do it. It works some times so you might get lucky too.

It might sound a bit stupid, but did you check that the default sound device in the control panel is the right one? I had this issue once, and spent several hours before noticing that the wrong device was selected. Also, did you install the motherboard driver before installing the sound one? If not, maybe reinstall the sound driver. In any case, do you still have unrecognized devices in ...

To be honest, Windows Firewall is crap. Every machine I sell I disable it right away, and install Comodo Firewall (also known as Comodo Internet Security) in its place. It's consistently one of the best Firewalls on the market, and it's completely free. There are 3 different levels of Firewall protection you can choose to install, from basic Firewall, Firewall with some malware protection (port...
