Optix - I would do but the only thing the official driver provides that the built-in doesn't is the G keys, which I don't really use. I got the keyboard for the design, feel and lack of paying for it (as it was a gift). Thanks all for the replies anyway

Looking for Static IP router?

As Optix suggested, most D-Link routers have a feature called Static DHCP, or DHCP Reservation (my D-Link DIR-655 has this function). You basically tell the router to always assign such and such IP to such and such computer name/MAC address. I usually recommend people that are thinking about doing static IPs to go this route instead. There are extra steps you need to take into consideration, and issues that can crop up when using static...

Need updated Phoenix-AwardBIOS...
Published (2009-12-30 06:45:00)
As the title states I am looking for an updated BIOS for my EVGA NF66 650i Ultra motherboard. EVGA's website shows the newest version for my motherboard as 5.0, which is kind of strange seeing as how I bought it new with 6.0 on it. Below is the info I could find on my system: ------------------------------------------------------------- Nvidia's Control Panel System Update Utility in the "Manage Your System BIOS"...

Thanks all, I'll hopefully have a go at all your solutions in turn ( bios
update last, as it is most hasslesome) over the weekend.

I haven't had any luck so far. Which options were your hoping to have in a similar model's firmware? Depending on the option it may be a limitation of the actual hardware. Here is what I found on Realtek.
Have you spoken to Hamlet's tech support for help?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver? Sounds like something is funky when it initializes since you said it calms down after the initial start up.

What kind of driver, there is alot of drivers for a motherboard. Asus
should have drivers on the website under support, just check out the
motherbard you have and get the drivers you need. Usually best to get the
updated ones, if there are none, well just get the ones that are available.

I would say its locked because you do not have SATA HDD's if it will not allow you to change.
Also with some SATA controllers running in "IDE" mode is actually running as a normal SATA drive.
Usually they allow on of the following (if they are SATA or SATA/RAID controllers)
1> IDE Mode
2> AHCI Mode (similar to IDE Mode, however enables advanced features of a SATA HDD if supported ex...
