Will deffo fit another fan when i get it back. If someone could suggest which one thought as i have no idea. Once again, thankas for all the help.

i thought i replied to this way back! well i thought that the pins would be an easy fix.... HOWEVER the pins were so bent on this board that there were many sharp bends and i ended up breaking a pin off.... so the board is a no go..... its a shame though.... the board is in pristine condition......the ONLY thing wrong is the socket... if only i could replace the socket... this thing wasnt even mounted in a system... just pulled out of the...

What do you think about the board i picked? I've read a review ón it and they said it was good. Any as for any suggestions, it has to be able to do sli and as cheap as possible but still within reasonable performance.

I wouldn't do it. Even successfully unlocked, the Sempron wouldn't be much faster than the E6550 you already have.

What is the model of your monitor? Usually if you have that along with a brief description of your problem Google will have no problem pulling up something that will help. Also when it goes into hypernation/power saver mode does the light stay on? Does it stay on but change color? If it happens at random times it could be a power or cord issue.

Grats on the purchase You would definately notice a huge improvement from the E4500 to the Q8/9400 although I haven't seen any benchmarks comparing them directly, I'm sure there would be some with multiple CPU tests. i am in a hurry and so can't help much with that at the moment, sorry. I thought the DuOrb coolers were for GPUs? correct me if I'm wrong.

Most monitors that have HDMI IN, should support a PS3 no problem, although many of them might not go up to 1080p. If the monitor has HDMI connections and resolution of 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 or of course higher, then I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you are going to buy a new one, make sure the HDMI it has is of 1.3 revision or higher. No point in going for anything lower.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I would recommend the Raven 2, even though it hasnt got the removable tray. The airflow and low noise levels are second to none and I personally love the shape and design ethos. Perhaps its not on your shortlist? have you a budget?

That extra fan will be money in that case. Plus how can you go wrong with a beast like the 5870? It's well out of my price range but I can dream. Enjoy it. It'll be a screamer. You should be able to use MSI's Afterburner application to increase the voltage if you really want to put the card through it's overclocking paces.

IMO best... specially for Via chipset.. with AGP... is a ATI Radeon x1650xt AGP (or anything in the X1xxx series.... They use native AGP busses, anything in the HDxxxx and above use a PCI-ex to AGP bridge which has caused ALOT of people havoc... I mean you can give one of those video cards like the 3850 a try, but i don't recommend it, not unless you can take it back at the moments notice...

I'm guessing this is similar to using a heatgun to "reflow" a 360. From what I understand it basically melts the solder and gets it to solidify again. But no I haven't heard of anyone doing this and wouldn't do it myself, wouldn't want to lose an oven with a gfx card

Yeah sounds like overheating in the CPU. Was it pre built system or did you build it yourself? First thing that I would check is the mounting of the CPU cooler. Do you have any idea of the system temperatures when the shutdown happens? You could use some system monitoring software and run super pi in a continuous loop about 10 minutes and keep eye on the temps.

While I cannot recommend a specific brand from personal experience, I just bought an external HDD enclosure and HDD separately, I think the price is about the same as a pre-built one.
