For x58 chips , you can enjoy full juice if yout installed two graphic card (all running at 16x) while in the P55 chipsets they are limited to (16x primary -8x secondary). Triple channel is a nice feature and allows you to install more ram in the future. Also like SeraphicSorcerer said when Intel produce six core processors and you see more gaming recommending it lol (maybe after 3 years or so) you can use the same chipset hopefully...

I wouldn't go for an SSD just yet unless I had no issue with money. The Vapor X has lower noise and better, cooler, temps. Worth the money IMO and a great card (5770) I would move to Vista 64 or better 7 64 since it is newer and will have longer support. I would go for the newer CPU. Longer support for it, although if you keep the PC for 3+ years it won't matter much since whatever you upgrade to (CPU wise), it will be quite slower...

New Computer Parts - Page 2

Re: New Computer Parts Well, the memory I linked there just says compatible with the P55 boards. I know what you are saying though because I did see the Ripjaw RAM. No idea whether or not AMD boards can or cannot use low voltage memory

If you are going with a dual card setup for graphics, go X58. If you are going with a single card setup then P55 is for you. In terms of a CPU I would go for the i7 920 for X58 and i7 750 for P55. You can pick up really good triple channel kits if you happen to go with an X58 rig but in my opinion there just isn't enough of a performance gain to warrant the price premium but then again I'm a budget builder. As it stands now...

I SAY, -grab a 7200rpm hard drive with 32mb cache. -grab a 2x2gb kit of ram. -buy a sapphire 5770. Should be more than enough to play L4D 2 just fine and make daily tasks a bit quicker. You save money too!

Yes but the 1366 socket allows for possibly future upgrades to the 6 core lynnefield chips. that's why I said that, if you never plan on upgrading it, then you might be alright with a i750. Yes there are triple channel kits, but you can get 3 GB 3x1 kits as well (cheaper) Well LED monitors are a new technology, I do like Samsung displays though

Even then, for things like the HDDs, and optical drives, the Mainboard maker usually puts a couple of cables those in with their packaging. One thing that they WON'T supply is thermal compound. I know that the current AMD BOXED processors come with thermal compound applied to the HSF. Some people use it, others prefer to clean it off and use a 3rd party TIM from folks like Arctic Silver. If you are going to buy an OEM processor, and an...

Non-standard PSU power cable
Published (2009-11-29 18:55:00)
FYI, that type of cable end is known (from what I have found) as a C20 and is generally for UPS boxes; we have a couple of those cables at my workplace for use with kettle lead panels. To require one for home use is very strange indeed, especially as the images that I found of the Dark Power Pro (including XSReviews) all have kettle lead sockets. The closest I could find are found here .

OK, I had a senior moment, I have the X-Fi Platinum with the I/O drive and hadn't really noticed that it has a both an optical in and out port I will test the output for what kind of signal from the TV it happens to be but I think I remember reading that HDMI is a protected link for both audio and video and this will be the only way to get full, non-compressed auido from a HD source like the BD Player. So I take it this BD Player will not...

Most Photoshop filters are, if I'm not mistaking, still two-threaded, not even four, so there shouldn't be a big difference when switching from a regular quad core to one with hyperthreading. Games are a similar affair. CAD applications could be a little different, depending on the application and the part of the process. As far as I know, generally AutoCAD doesn't benefit a lot from having too ...

Non-standard PSU power cable
Hello folks!
I just received an 850W PSU (be Quiet Dark Power Pro) after winning this from an online contest. Unfortunately, the PSU power cable wasn't included. I thought I can use a standard PSU cable only to find out that this 850W uses a nonstandard cable.
I already contacted the PSU maker ...

If you get the parts in retail packaging, then most of the times you get all the cables with them.
If you buy them OEM, then no.

I think you won't have a problem with Q9550 for 2 years at least. The issue with going i7/phenom II route , you will have to replace you motherboard and Ram , ho much is your budget ? , If you don't have a tight budget , you'd better go i7/phenomII platform for future proof and better performance.

hi, i also have the same problem and i've tried all the other solutions including yours. i've tried playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and after 5-10 mins my PC goes into a lockup / crashes! HELP!
I've tried the following:
* Give the X1650 a dedicated power supply (no other connections from HD, drives, etc etc
* Replaced the ATI catalyst drivers with the Omega ones
* Checked temps - they...

1)You need to mention the resolution you play. 40fps at what resolution, it is very important.
2)The cpu is not that great, but should be ok for that graphics card, although not by much. There might be a slight bottlenecking, but nothing serious enough.
3)The gpu is good, but it is out of date now for new releases (see (1), the thing is if you upgrade the GPU, then you will not see much ...

For what little I know you seem on track. Now after having adjusted the colors, is the gamma still good? Monitor Calibration
On these cheap TN panels one can only get a half decent result even with a hardware calibrator dangling in front of the screen, but it's definitely worth doing some adjusting. On all systems it's worth calibrating at least the gamma and I was glad to see Windows 7 coming...

would love to see this updated with the new i5 and i7 cores.

So, IF I understand this, you want to connect (audio always) the bluray player to the TV, then the TV to the PC, and the PC already outputs to your speaker system?
BUT, your only option for audio out from the TV is through OPTICAL audio and your only input in the SB is a SPIDIF or Line In (which I guess doesn't allow 5.1?)
If yes, I don't know. The optical cable transmits light, right? If ...
