OIL Recomendation?
Published (2009-11-27 14:25:00)
I wouldnt be arsed about running super expensive stuff, but I would never ever run 40 weight oil on a tuned turbo car, not in the 10yrs of constant tuned turbo car ownership. And the massive lack of dead turbos and engines I've suffered makes me think it wasnt a bad plan. Well once remember I went to 40 weight Mobil1 to try and it was tappier and used more oil, so fuck that. On an N/A car or a standard engine not used hard, fair enough,...

interesting project. we planned to do that also, because after the dohc, the next level is the 24v cosworth, but the swap cost a lot. its a V6 so need a gearbox, exhaust, ecu and loom etc etc... after that get back to inline4 + turbo again, so this step could be missed turboing the dohc. the sump is aluminium, so not a big thing drilling end welding, pipes could be the same like on an YB. Will be interesting, IMO I think the turbine housing is a bit small considering the size of the compressor, but yea, its deffo more suitable for 450 than a HX is, which is more of a 600bhp turbo. Its pretty much like a HX30 turbine and HX35 compressor.

Andy, If your looking at getting a better stance and ride quality then Coilovers are the way to go. You can adjust your stance to how you like it, and the quality of ride compared to some lowering springs fitted over std shocks! If your looking at buying new shocks and springs, then Coilovers are a better investment! If your rims are the std e36 fitment then there 41offset and you can go ...
