I've cried... a lot. It is hard but honestly it is the greatest feeling in the world to watch that dog that came in terrified, shaking, dirty and lost go home to the perfect family that will love her until the end. I love my fosters, so yes it is hard to let them go. But with each adoption, I have more room to help another dog. And I have saved a life. for becoming a foster home. You ...

According to the news they had plenty of volunteers to pet sit, clean etc but they are in DIRE need of industrial sized fans as the warehouse is abandoned and it gets HOT here.

I start cleaning and feeding and so on at the shelter soon. Any advice on how to avoid bringing any germs or such home to Chamois (Shammy)? Chamois is a 4 yr old lab and healthy (other than she has a delicate digestive system). The shelter takes pets of all kinds, mostly dogs and cats.

I LOVE all your ideas!!! What do your pens say? And what about the stamps? I would love to introduce these ideas to my shelter. How about creating a bookmark and distributing them to all area libraries (including school libraries)?

Hi everyone! I wanted to bring to your attention something that is a very important part of me. This past year I have become involved with Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida as a foster home for Labs when they are pulled from the Miami shelter or surrendered by their owners. We have been flooded with dogs of late as people are leaving them locked up in their foreclosed homes. The neglect and ...

Well, there are many alternatives. As you probably have already, post signs anywhere and everywhere. Laminate them so that they will be able to withstand weather and you won't have to make and post them frequently. Ask people from neighboring cities when the come to visit to post signs in their cities (and of course, provide the signs.) Make the signs colorful and include a clear picture of the ...
