Heavy Bags
Published (2009-12-13 00:07:00)
I'm currently shopping for my christmas present and I am getting a heavy bag to get in shape. I just need to know whats a good heavy bag weight. I have seen 70lbs, 100lbs, etc. I'm not trying to turn pro or anything. I just need a bag in the garage to take out my stress every once in a while and to include it in my morning workout. thanks.

QUOTE(D35TR00 @ Nov 29 2009, 11:03 PM) When you are working with a new guy who never boxed, how do you determine if you will train the person to fight as a southpaw or conventional? Personally I ask the person these three questions; A ) If you are throwing a baseball, which had do you use to throw it? B ) Show me how you would stand if you are about to run a race C ) Which hand do you write...

QUOTE(champ4ever @ Nov 21 2009, 10:40 AM) i think the big difference with the cubans is they dedicate themselves to amateur boxing fulltime while most amateurs around the world even though they love it can only do it part time for obvious reasons. i think if you got a ton of american kids who can train full time, sleep, drink, and box from a young age, then obviously your amateurs will be ...

I'm missing something, Eric. Are you a fighter? If yes, then why are you lifting weights full time?

QUOTE(daprofessor @ Oct 12 2009, 06:05 PM) the mitts have a lot of benefits over the heavy bags...number one...bags don't swing back. two, bags don't have legs. there are a lot of trainers out there that have no clue when it comes to mitt work...but then there are others who can put it all together. when done right, mitt work is the next best thing to sparring. i hear manny talk about ...
