QUOTE(ender @ Nov 23 2009, 04:58 PM) In a way, Manny helped Floyd sell his last fight. What's Marquez famous for ? Fighting Pacquiao. Floyd/JMM would have never happened without that connection. Among other things... Winning titles in three weight classes Beating another Mexican Legend in Barrera Being the #2 P4P fighter in the world Being the undisputed champ at lightweight with KO's over guys who've never been...

Pac/cotto 1.25 Million Officially

QUOTE(ender @ Nov 23 2009, 03:55 PM) Though my comment was fair. Oscar, Floyd and Schaeffer from the word go billed Marquez as the man who beat Pacquaio. Had those fights not happened, Floyd would have had a tougher time finding someone to come back against. It's a valid point, sure.

QUOTE(bazooka @ Nov 23 2009, 12:50 AM) I didn't like his whining either. Kessler might just be a little less of a fighter than we thought he was, and to be fair to Ward....he's probably just coming into his own as well. We might be better able to assess this fight in a year or two. Weren't you b8tching in another thread about how it's sickening to see people take credit away from a fighter and call him...

QUOTE(bazooka @ Nov 23 2009, 02:15 AM) you're turning into smelodies Jokes aside - I think the sport needs good solid journeymen like him to flesh out the competition. Ward. he has a better head on his shoulders. His athletic abilities may be a shade less than AD's, but he's a thinker with a lot of poise and maturity

You also have to understand the logic of it. Pac's fight with Marquez made Marquez a bigger name when he fought Floyd. Floyd knocked out Hatton & beat DLH in a boring fight, so when Pac fought them some of the interest was already gone. Not taking anything a way from Floyd, but I think hes only a slight bigger draw after Saturday.

QUOTE(tigerthelion @ Aug 5 2009, 07:22 AM) Maybe so, but Bradley would actually put up a fight at the very least. He's a live body and a very good fighter, which is more than could be said for David Diaz, zombie Oscar, or useless Hatton. Bradley would be a way bigger test for Pac than Hatton was, that's for sure. Anyone who thinks Hatton could hang with Bradley at the moment is ...

Who would get top billing, Juanma or Cotto? Juanma's biggest challenge is coming up in Jan. fighting Luevano.

Its simple Floyd cant win against Manny for one simple reason and one reason alone! Thatâs because the fans wont accept a win from him if its not in Manny fashion! If he wins any other way then in a firefight he loses and there in lays the problem with being one of the smartest fighters of all time and arguable the best defensive of all time⦠I think he can and will beat Pac-Man just ...

JMM has to close to zero chance of winning PAC at 145lbs and probably gets KO'd. Even 140lbs is not good. He'll just have to turn down the fight unless it's at 140lbs but he'll probably still get KO'd at that weight and maybe even 135. He should just take the Hatton fight and then maybe move back down to 135lbs. He will be remembered in a better light if he proves to be the one that fought...
